With that, Dawei and Xingfu spit hard. With this ‘act of manly declaration’, they sealed the deal and no one would tell the adults. Otherwise, their entire family would be equivalent to being raised by dogs and anyone would have the right to spit on them in the future.
Everyone else spat too.
Seeing that his Third Brother wasn’t listening to him, Xiaowang was so anxious that he held up his two small fists and leaned forward to look into the river.
Sanwang shouted, “We jump on the count of 3.”
Sanwang gritted his teeth and jumped down.
Xingfu and Dawei bent over and quickly put on their clothes as they were almost freezing to death.
The children were dumbfounded, “What are you two doing?”
When Xiaowang saw Sanwang jump, he burst into tears and wanted to go down to the river to find him, “Little Third Brother, Little Third Brother…”
Xingfu, “I’ve been in the water before, so now I don’t have to.”
As soon as Sanwang entered the water, it was bitingly cold, especially when the wind blew by. It was so chilling that he could not help but shiver and chatter his teeth. In an act of desperation, he started to swim and realised that the water was somewhat getting warmer. The people on the radio and his father weren’t lying after all— it wasn’t as cold if he started to move.
He shouted at Xingfu and Dawei, “You two mutts didn’t keep your promise!”
Xingfu said proudly, “We spat and swore, so no one can tell anyone. Whoever tells adults will have been raised by dogs!” Dawei patted his friend and said, “You are so smart!” He pointed at Sanwang, “Hahaha, you idiot!”
Sanwang was about to explode in rage.
Dawei also shouted, “You have to swim a lap to be considered a winner; otherwise it doesn’t count. Xingfu swam a whole circle that day.”
Sanwang splashed the water towards them, “I can swim even two laps! You two are useless mutts!”
Sanwang felt that it was the coldest when he was not moving, so he swam. As expected, it felt much warmer once he moved, which was quite interesting. He immediately felt like a fish in water and wanted to swim two laps.
Xiaowang was so anxious on the shore that he kept asking his Third Brother to come up quickly.
“Xiaowang, don’t be afraid, I’m fine,” Sanwang swam to the other side. It was suffocating to not be able to swim in the river for more than half a year. Now, he felt like a fish in water, “It’s so fun, but you don’t even dare to get in the water! Useless mutts!”
Xingfu and Dawei were so angry that they yelled at him.
When he reached the other side, Sanwang began to swim back.
The children on the shore were so impressed that they shouted, “Brother Sanwang, you are so awesome!” “You’re as awesome as your Eldest Brother!”
Sanwang was extremely proud.
Xingfu and Dawei looked very mad. They originally wanted to humiliate Sanwang, so they spat and made the oath to promise not to complain to the adults. Who would have thought that this kid would be so bold and jump at will? Originally, they were just thinking that if he jumped, he would make a fool out of himself and they would have a good laugh.
But he was actually swimming!
The two of them were very annoyed that Sanwang was in the limelight.
Suddenly, they found that Sanwang had become motionless as he grabbed his leg and shouted.
