Yang Dahe looked at his wife in shock, he had never expected her to say such things.
"What’s wrong? Stunned? Can’t admit it?" Feng Chunhua clenched his clothes and roared at him, "You men all like good-looking women! Fancy Qin Jian’s wife, do you? Remembering your little first love, huh? Serves you right that you can never be together!"
"Shut your mouth!" Yang Dahe, eyes wide with anger, raised his hand and slapped Feng Chunhua hard across the face.
"Ah—" Yang Chunhua screamed and fell to the ground.
Seeing their mother get hit made Yang Erxiu cry out as well, completely breaking the quiet of the night sky.
People living in the same dormitory building all started to get up.
They hadn’t wanted to intervene in the couple’s quarrel, as they were all colleagues, and it would be very embarrassing for Yang Dahe.
But the slap was so loud, they were afraid something serious might happen inside, so they all started knocking on the door, trying to break up the fight.
An Hao listened to Feng Chunhua’s cursing from inside the house, seething with anger.
She didn’t understand, because she hadn’t stolen someone else’s man or seduced anybody’s husband. She was just devoted to loving her husband, so how could she be labeled a vixen.
Qin Jian was squatting on the ground, massaging An Hao’s feet, and looking up, he could see her chest heaving, obviously upset.
"Feeling upset?" Qin Jian asked her.
"Upset!" An Hao took a deep breath, "I really want to go up there and slap her myself!"
"Didn’t you and Gu Shuangshuang let off steam this afternoon?"
"Letting off steam is one thing! But listen to how nasty she’s cursing! Calling me a ’vixen’ and ’slut’!" An Hao found that unacceptable.
"Calling you a vixen is a compliment to your beauty," Qin Jian said, knowing she was unhappy, he tried to cheer her up, but unfortunately, the flattery missed the mark.
An Hao glared at him, "And ’slut’? Is that also a compliment?"
Seeing Qin Jian remain silent, An Hao got even angrier, and pulled her foot away, then raised her other foot to kick him.
"All right, no more anger," Qin Jian reined in his smile, earnestly said, "If you’re not happy living here, we’ll move to the family building tomorrow. And if you find the family building has too much drama, let’s move into the guest house instead."
Seeing Qin Jian’s face darken, An Hao thought he was angry, and she felt even more aggrieved.
Her eyes lowered, and tears started to fall drop by drop.
"Why are you crying?" Qin Jian felt distressed too, Yang Dahe’s wife was truly a shrew.
She was bullying An Hao, and it made him uncomfortable as well.
After all, they had to maintain a facade as colleagues.
"Qin Jian, are you angry with me?" An Hao lifted her head, her eyes brimming with tears as she looked at him.
"How could I be?" Qin Jian dried her tears and hugged her, whispering, "Next time, if you come across someone as unreasonable as Feng Chunhua, don’t hold back. Do whatever you want to do!"
An Hao was surprised, "Wouldn’t that ruin your relationship with Yang Dahe?"
Qin Jian smiled slightly, "I trust my wife’s wisdom!"
An Hao laughed out softly, falling into Qin Jian’s embrace and murmured, "I won’t be anymore. It’s not easy coming here, and I won’t make you upset or worried anymore."
Qin Jian held An Hao’s hand and kissed her forehead softly, "How could I be unhappy? I’m just afraid you’re being wronged."
"With you, I don’t feel wronged at all." An Hao wrapped her arms around his neck, tilted her head back, and pressed her reddened lips to his, "Qin Jian, I want you to cherish me for a lifetime, to always continue cherishing me..."
