As they passed the supermarket, the family of three went inside to shop. On the way back, the little girl looked at the bag in Shen Zhaozhao’s hand and said, "Mom, you’re tired today, aren’t you? Let me carry the bag for you!"
Shen Zhaozhao: "Mom is not tired!"
Sheng Ning’an, the kid: "Mom, you said adults carry the big bags, and kids carry the small ones. Can I carry the small one then?"
Shen Zhaozhao: "No need!"
A mother knows her daughter best. This clever little girl was suddenly so eager, not just out of a simple wish to share the burden.
After being rejected twice, Sheng Ning’an was still persistent, looked up with her big, round eyes, earnestly staring at Shen Zhaozhao and said, "Mom, I don’t want to eat, I just want to carry it for you, I promise I won’t eat!"
Shen Zhaozhao held back a laugh and said, "Is that so? But you are still young, mom is afraid it might be too much for you, so let mom carry it."
"Mom, An’an is not little anymore, An’an can carry it."
The little girl’s eyes eagerly fixed on the bag in her hand, looking anxious. Shen Zhaozhao found it funny and amusing. Eventually, she took the smallest bag and handed it to her, saying, "Alright then, An’an can help mom carry this one!"
Only then did the little girl’s face light up, and soon Shen Zhaozhao heard the rustling sound of a plastic bag being opened.
Looking down, she saw the little girl stealthily stuffing snacks into her mouth.
Shen Zhaozhao playfully asked her: "Sweetie, didn’t you say you wouldn’t sneak a bite?"
Immediately, the little girl covered her mouth, looked up at Shen Zhaozhao, and after a moment, blinked her guilty big eyes and said, "Sorry, Mom, I couldn’t resist."
Shen Zhaozhao burst into laughter, pinched her cheek and said, "Sweetie, how can you be so adorable!"
As her cheeks were squeezed, the little girl looked up with her little head tilted, and asked in a soft, sweet voice, "Mom, are you not mad?"
Shen Zhaozhao smiled and asked her, "Why should Mom be mad?"
"Because An’an just sneaked some snacks!" said the little girl, hanging her head low.
Shen Zhaozhao replied, "Oh, Mom is not mad!"
"Why?" the little girl asked, her big round eyes confused as she looked up at her.
Shen Zhaozhao: "Because mom also liked to sneak snacks when she was little."
"Really?" The little girl’s eyes immediately brightened up, her previously guilty face suddenly beaming, and quickly she picked up a snack and stuffed it into Shen Zhaozhao’s mouth, saying, "Then this one’s for mom."
"Thank you, sweetheart!"
The little girl became even happier!
When they returned home, as soon as they entered, the little girl was surrounded.
"An’an, were you happy at kindergarten today? Did you miss Grandma?" Qin Suxin was the first to ask her granddaughter.
"Happy, there were lots of kids to play with An’an, but I missed Grandma a lot, so much." The little girl snuggled into Qin Suxin’s arms, her voice soft and cute, almost melting Qin Suxin’s heart!
Holding her granddaughter, Qin Suxin felt both tender and joyful: "Really? Grandma also missed An’an so much. Tomorrow, Grandma will make sure to get the task of picking up An’an, so An’an can see Grandma first thing after school."
Sheng Yan Cheng, sitting on the couch, also chimed in, calling out to his granddaughter: "An’an, did you miss Grandpa? How about Grandpa picks you up tomorrow?"
The little girl nodded her little head, "I missed him, An’an missed Grandpa so much." Sheng Ning’an, just in kindergarten, was already adept at warming hearts.
