Shi Yue met her gaze and inexplicably felt seen through.
Still, she pretended nothing was amiss and smiled at her.
Sheng Ning’an quickly averted her gaze without saying a word.
Seeing she hadn’t exposed her, Shi Yue let out a small sigh of relief, turned around, and took out a bunch of local specialties from her bag to share with everyone, "I specially brought these from home for everyone. They are all local products from our place, not worth much, but you can all try them. If you like it, next time I can ask my parents to send more."
"Thank you!" The other two in the dormitory happily accepted.
However, when it came to Sheng Ning’an, she declined, "No need, thank you! I don’t like to eat these."
Shi Yue stiffened for a moment, then withdrew her hand and said, "Alright then! Next time I’ll bring you some other tasty things."
Tian Yu, sensing the awkward atmosphere, quickly chimed in, "An’an, you don’t have to be polite, how about you give it to me? It looks pretty delicious, and I was just worrying one bag won’t be enough."
"Sure!" Shi Yue smiled and handed it over.
The other girl in the dormitory, Xue Xian, took out a bunch of snacks and shared them with everyone. However, due to the earlier incident, she didn’t ask Sheng Ning’an but instead placed them directly on her desk.
Sheng Ning’an saw this but did not refuse this time.
She didn’t have anything against Shi Yue, she just didn’t want to distance herself from everyone else in the dorm.
After placing the snacks, Xue Xian smiled at her, and Sheng Ning’an nodded in thanks.
Seeing everyone had almost packed away their things, Tian Yu glanced at her phone and then asked everyone, "Haven’t you all had dinner yet? How about we go check out the cafeteria together? I just saw on the campus forum, they say our school’s cafeteria food isn’t bad. It’s no match for Jing University across the way, too bad Jing University’s cafeteria isn’t open to outsiders."
Shi Yue said with a smile, "That’s no problem, I just happen to know a senior at Jing University. When the time comes, I’ll take you guys over for a meal!"
"Oh wow, yes please! And we can also take the chance to visit Jing University." Tian Yu said excitedly.
Having climbed down from the top bunk, Sheng Ning’an picked up her car keys and bag from her desk, "You all go ahead to eat! I won’t join; I have some errands to run and need to step out for a bit."
She needed to drop by the research institute at Jing University across the way to give her Young Uncle her car keys so he could take her car to the 4S shop for maintenance when he had the time.
"Oh, okay, by the way, the tutor just notified us in the group chat to go to the General Affairs Office to pick up our military training uniforms this afternoon. Don’t forget." Tian Yu reminded her.
Even though they were all the same age, Sheng Ning’an had an indescribable presence about her.
It always seemed like she was somehow different from them.
Sheng Ning’an, "Got it, thanks!"
"You’re welcome," Tian Yu said with a smile.
Sheng Ning’an then left the dormitory. Tian Yu couldn’t help but notice the car keys in her hand and asked Shi Yue, "I heard your conversation earlier, you said your car got scratched at the school gate, so An’an, she drove here herself?"
"Yeah!" Mentioning the incident at the school gate, Shi Yue’s expression became somewhat stiff while she forced a smile and said.
"She must be about the same age as us, right? To already have a driver’s license, that’s pretty impressive!" Tian Yu couldn’t help but exclaim in admiration.
"Right!" Xue Xian nodded in agreement, "My parents originally planned to let me learn driving after the college entrance exam, but I was a bit scared. I felt like I wouldn’t be able to learn, so I didn’t go."
