The other customers all put down their utensils and looked over.
The chef that stood on the side of the table freaked out, “We clean the kitchen more than 10 times a day throughout our service. All of our utensils are also cleaned frequently and disinfected.”
“Jing Li Xuan’s kitchen is not afraid to be inspected at any time. We’ve even won awards for our cleanliness. This is part of the reason Jing Li Xuan is so highly regarded.”
“I’ve never seen a cockroach the entire time I’ve worked for. How can it show up in a dish! When I was cooking, I didn’t see anything. How can you possibly have found a cockroach in there?!”
Yi Shiqiong appeared furious, “So you’re saying I wronged you? You’re accusing me of putting the cockroach in there myself?!”
Tian Zhen joined in and was just as angry, “Exactly! What are you trying to do by pushing away responsibility?! If senior Yi wanted to scam you, she would’ve just put a cockroach in there, she never would’ve put it in her mouth!”
“Don’t try to bully the customer just because you’re a reputable restaurant. Senior Yi is a best-selling author and is a public figure. If you try to get away from this, she will leave a bad review online and drag down your restaurant’s reputation!”
Qiao Qing spoke calmly, “Get the surveillance recordings.”
The restaurant manager, Song Zixuan, eyed Chen Lan and ordered, “Call the guy in security and ask him to get us the recordings.”
Chen Lan nodded and turned away to call.
Tian Zhen crossed her arms, “You’re acting like we are scamming you. Go ahead and get the recordings! You think we are afraid of you?! We want those recordings for ourselves!”
“Ever since this dish was put on our table, nobody’s touched it. We, of course, wouldn’t put anything in there ourselves, yet somehow, senior Yi still ate a cockroach. If this isn’t your responsibility, then whose responsibility is it?!”
Nobody answered them. The silence only encouraged the two to act even more arrogantly.
Before long, one of the waiters changed the channel on the TV and started to play the surveillance recordings.
Everyone looked over.
They saw that the waiter placed the dishes on Yi Shiqiong and Tian Zhen’s dining table, then left.
After that, nothing unusual happened and the two ate like normal people.
Just then, Yi Shiqiong puked out something black.
When she saw the quarter of the cockroach she spat out, she screamed and ran to the bathroom.
By now, Song Zixuan and the other employees were in shock. The other customers started to mutter.
They pushed away their own dishes and utensils. Some people started to gag.
“Oh my god, that is disgusting! Though I didn’t eat it, thinking about it makes me want to puke!”
“I hate cockroaches! Eating it? Even seeing it makes me want to hurl! I feel bad for that girl!”
“I thought this restaurant was clean! I guess all the good reputation was due to marketing?”
“I can never eat here ever again. God knows what else can be found in their food.”
“It’s not unusual to find weird things in restaurant food. But this restaurant’s been so reputable, which makes all of this extremely disappointing.”
Luo Chen pulled on Qiao Qing’s sleeve, “They actually found a cockroach here? Qingqing, let’s go elsewhere. No matter how good the food tastes, we shouldn’t eat dirty food.”
