The teacher took a deep breath and revealed a smile on her face.
“Yao Tang, you want to improve your Chinese scores, right?”
As soon as Yao Tang saw the soft smile on her teacher’s face, she could feel her stomach stirring.
She didn’t have a good feeling about this.
“No thanks,” she responded. “I’m quite satisfied with my score.”
The Language teacher was shocked to silence, unsure of what else to say.
Did she really not like learning Chinese that much?
“Yao Tang, you really shouldn’t give up after encountering these kinds of difficulties. Instead, you should try your best to overcome them. Only by overcoming them will you realize how much you’ve gained.”
Yao Tang was silent for a moment. However, just as the teacher had thought that she was able to change her mind, the student said, “Why don’t I just change my path instead of trying to overcome them?”
What?
Only then did the Language teacher give up on the idea of beating around the bush. “Yao Tang, this is what I think. You are an excellent student, but you lack the method. This is the time you should improve on yourself.”
“How about this? Come to my office, and I’ll tutor you. What do you think?”
She had smiled at Yao Tang because she wanted to be friendly and offer her a helping hand.

After seeing Yao Tang’s results, the student secretly took a look at her individual scores per subject.
She found that other than her Chinese, she had received full marks for everything else. As soon as she said this, the other students lifted their heads in surprise.
“Isn’t the Chinese really easy this time around? I thought she’d get full marks in that.”
“I heard that she didn’t even finish her composition! She only wrote half of it,” she murmured. “When the Chinese teacher found out about it, he tried to get her to make up for it, but she rejected him. They were furious!”
Their expressions were complicated.
They were all stunned.
Although the results of the monthly exam were very good, Yao Tang’s low score caused a lot of discussion in the group. They were talking about her scores more than Yan Yu’s accomplishments!
