Shen Yi’s face was stern as he walked all the way to his office door before stopping.
He was still somewhat irritable, tugging at his tie without haste to enter. Standing outside his office, he calmed himself for a dozen seconds before pushing the door and entering.
As soon as he entered, Ye Wanwan looked up at Shen Yi, her eyes filled with indescribable emotions.
Yet Shen Yi acted as if nothing had happened, gently smiling at Ye Wanwan, "Everything’s been handled, we can leave now."
Shen Yi walked straight to his desk, placed the documents on it, and then turned to Ye Wanwan, "Let’s go."
"Okay," Ye Wanwan responded and stood up.
Shen Yi then took the coat lying on the sofa and had Ye Wanwan put it on.
After getting ready, he took Ye Wanwan’s hand and left the office.
Emerging from the office, they went straight to the elevator and then to the parking lot. Not far away, a car was backing out of its space, seemingly preparing to leave.
Ye Wanwan and Shen Yi did not notice that car, but the person inside was staring intently at the couple holding hands, gripping the steering wheel so tightly that it began to strain.
Fang Xian was seething with anger. She couldn’t understand why, having done nothing wrong, President Shen had confronted her?
And as for Mrs. Shen, without having exchanged a single word, she had acted like she was the one being bullied by Fang Xian.
It must have been Mrs. Shen who said something to President Shen; otherwise, he wouldn’t have questioned Fang Xian!
Not daring to confront her, she just knew how to act coquettishly and play the victim to men, making President Shen deal with her. It was truly disgusting!
Fang Xian was so angry that her eyes reddened, yet she felt utterly powerless.
Driving out of the parking lot towards the company, Fang Xian at that moment did not realize that upon arriving at the company, even more infuriating things would happen.
Upon returning, Fang Xian went upstairs to the president’s office and encountered Mr. Dewen’s other secretary, Miss Hai Li, who was also Chinese.
Upon seeing Fang Xian, Hai Li slightly raised her eyebrows, flashing a faint, sardonic smile.
Fang Xian found it odd but didn’t pay it much mind since they were both Mr. Dewen’s assistants — essentially in competition with each other.
From Fang Xian’s first day at the company, Hai Li’s attitude had always been snide and strange.
Fang Xian ignored the assistant’s expression and prepared to return to her desk to sit down.
Before she could take her seat, Fang Xian heard Hai Li say, "Mr. Dewen wants you to come to his office once you’re back."
"Is there a problem?" Fang Xian asked.
Hai Li shrugged her shoulders, "How would I know?"
Seeing her attitude, Fang Xian didn’t ask anything further and went straight to Mr. Dewen’s office. She first knocked on the door, waited for a response from inside, then pushed the door and went in.
After Fang Xian had entered, Hai Li exchanged glances with a few other colleagues and then they all simultaneously broke into laughter.
About twenty minutes later, Fang Xian came out of the office with reddened eyes.
Fang Xian returned to her desk to start packing her belongings, and Hai Li, feigning concern, asked, "Miss Fang, what happened to you? Why are you crying? Did Mr. Dewen scold you?"
Fang Xian just looked up at Hai Li. In her reddened eyes, nothing but cold indifference showed.
