Shen Yi’s heartbeat raced. He had been standing by the bedroom door, and the baby’s room was right across from it. When the night nurse came out, she thought he was there to see the baby.
The night nurse hurriedly said, "Zhouzhou is still sleeping."
"Good, let him sleep then," Shen Yi responded, a bit flustered as he opened the bedroom door, then quickly returned to the bedroom.
Inside the bedroom, Ye Wanwan had already gone to sleep. Shen Yi stood at a distance, unable to see the face buried under the covers.

Shen Yi just stood there, staring blankly for dozens of seconds before he finally moved.
He quickly took the bag out, closed the cupboard, and returned to the one where Ye Wanwan kept her pajamas.
Shen Yi opened the wardrobe and placed the bag inside again.
Making sure it was in plain sight so Ye Wanwan could easily spot it, Shen Yi closed the wardrobe and left the walk-in closet briskly. Without casting a glance at Ye Wanwan, he left the bedroom.
When Ye Wanwan woke up, it was already past three in the afternoon. By then, Zhouzhou had also woken up, but seeing him calm and not fussing, she knew he wasn’t hungry yet.
Just like every day before, after waking up, Ye Wanwan played with Zhouzhou in the nursery room.
She appeared to have completely forgotten about a bag she had left downstairs.

Shen Yi came back to the bedroom after the baby had fallen asleep.
