Upon exiting the suite, there were staff members outside, ready to take the items from Ye Wanwan’s hands and carry them downstairs for them.
Ye Wanwan handed over everything she was holding in her left hand to the staff, and when another staff member was about to take the item in Ye Wanwan’s other hand, she sidestepped slightly to avoid this.
"No need, I can handle it myself," said Ye Wanwan.
Shen Yi, standing nearby, was somewhat puzzled, failing to understand why she insisted on carrying it herself. Was there something special about that gift?
While pondering, Shen Yi glanced subconsciously at the bag Ye Wanwan was holding.
It appeared to be an ordinary bag.
Once they were back home, Ye Wanwan quickly went over, casually placed the items on the sofa, and then sat down there herself, letting out a long sigh of relief.
Shen Yi had handed Zhouzhou over to the nanny, asking her to take him upstairs to rest, and he then sat next to Ye Wanwan.
"You didn’t eat much at the hotel just now. How about having some lunch and then taking a nap?" Shen Yi said while sitting beside Ye Wanwan, reaching out to pull her into his arms.
Ye Wanwan leaned against Shen Yi’s shoulder, nodding weakly.
The couple sat quietly on the sofa for a while before a servant came to remind them that they could start having their meal.
Ye Wanwan finished eating quickly, partly because she had eaten some food at the hotel, and partly because she was indeed very sleepy now. After gobbling down some food, she said to Shen Yi, "I’m done eating, I’ll go upstairs to rest now."
Shen Yi nodded, "Be careful going upstairs."
"Okay," replied Ye Wanwan, and then turned to go upstairs.
Shen Yi continued with his meal. He hadn’t eaten anything at the hotel because he was too worried to leave Zhouzhou with anyone else due to the public setting, so he had been holding Zhouzhou all the time.
When Shen Yi finished eating and was about to head upstairs, a servant called out from behind, "Sir."
Shen Yi paused in his steps and looked back, only to see the servant approaching quickly with a bag in hand, and he remembered that it was the one Ye Wanwan had brought back.
"Madam left it on the sofa. Could you please take it upstairs?" the servant said.
"Mm," replied Shen Yi, taking the bag before turning to continue upstairs.
Arriving at the second floor, Shen Yi stopped at the door and thought for a moment. This must have been the gift from Song Ziyi and the others, probably for Zhouzhou.
What could they have sent? Something to play with or something useful?
Was it something Zhouzhou could use now, or would he need to wait until he was older?
While he was thinking, Shen Yi had already reached in and taken the gift box out of the bag.
He would know once he opened and checked.
If Zhouzhou could use it now, then they would keep it out, otherwise, they could store it away until Zhouzhou grew older.
However, when Shen Yi uncovered the gift box and saw what was lying inside, he stopped dead in his tracks, his eyes revealing a look of astonishment.
Staring at the object for quite some time, Shen Yi swallowed hard, then tried to compose himself as he closed the gift box and placed it back inside the bag.
Shen Yi’s heartbeat quickened. He truly had not expected that the gift was not for Zhouzhou, but for Wanwan!
And it was such an unbelievable gift!
