Everyone says that Zhouzhou is the spitting image of him and doesn’t resemble Ye Wanwan in the slightest.
But he feels that when Zhouzhou acts spoiled towards him, pouting with an expression that looks like he’s about to cry but doesn’t, he is exactly like Ye Wanwan, which makes it utterly impossible for him to deny any of Zhouzhou’s demands.
And Ye Wanwan too is fond of the clingy Zhouzhou. The first thing on her mind upon waking up each day is Zhouzhou, and the last thing before sleep is still Zhouzhou.
Every day he goes to work, and the brief time he has after returning home is for accompanying Zhouzhou, in order to maintain their "father-son relationship".
Previously, once Zhouzhou was asleep, it was their time alone—him and Ye Wanwan. Even if they did nothing, just talking together was good too.
But now, let alone doing anything, even when he wants to say two sentences to Ye Wanwan, he worries whether it might accidentally wake up Zhouzhou.
So, after Zhouzhou had slept in their bedroom for a whole week in a row, Shen Yi’s underlying frustration became more and more severe.
There was a charity dinner Friday night, and Shen Yi needed Ye Wanwan to accompany him to attend it.
Shen Yi was still busy at the company, and with some time to spare after getting ready, Ye Wanwan informed him before heading directly to Jinghong Building to wait for Shen Yi to finish work so they could go to the charity dinner together.
When the car stopped at the foot of Jinghong Building, the security guard hurried over to help open the door, and Ye Wanwan stepped out, nodding slightly to the guard, as a way of thanks.
The security guard looked at Mrs. Shen a bit flusteredly for a moment before quickly averting his gaze.
Today Ye Wanwan wore a black satin slip dress with a shallow V-neck and a pair of black stiletto sandals. Her black-tea-colored, long curly hair cascaded over her shoulders, paired with exquisite makeup.
She looked like a star ready to attend an awards ceremony, so beautiful that it was hard to look away.
When Ye Wanwan entered, the receptionist couldn’t help but praise her, "Mrs. Shen, your gown suits you very well today."
"Thank you." Hearing someone compliment her naturally delighted Ye Wanwan, who smiled lightly in return.
The receptionist swiped the card, and as Ye Wanwan walked in, the receptionist caught sight of the deep back of her dress and her eyes conveyed her astonishment.
Ye Wanwan turned her head and saw the surprise in the other person’s eyes, she smiled back, thinking to herself that the gown she picked must indeed be very attractive.
When the elevator opened again, Ye Wanwan in her high heels stepped out, passing by the secretarial office and attracting a slew of gazes.
Many of the staff in the secretarial office were familiar with Ye Wanwan. The men, of course, didn’t jest about it, whereas the women didn’t hesitate to lavish praise on her.
Ye Wanwan chatted and laughed with them for a bit and then saw Assistant Chen not far away, clearly having something she wanted to say.
So Ye Wanwan walked over and asked, "Assistant Chen, did you want to say something to me?"
Assistant Chen said, "President Shen is in the office."
"What’s the matter?" asked Ye Wanwan, somewhat puzzled, as Assistant Chen’s specific reminder must mean it wasn’t just to tell her Shen Yi was in his office.
Assistant Chen continued, "There’s been a problem with the planning department, and President Shen just lost his temper in the office."
Ye Wanwan raised an eyebrow slightly but said nothing. Her eyes on Assistant Chen clearly indicated that she was waiting for her to continue.
So, after a silent pause of two seconds, Assistant Chen added, "President Shen hasn’t been in a good mood these past couple of days."
