But when Shen Wenzhou fell asleep again, he had another dream that even seemed to continue from the previous one.
When he woke up again, he was groggy and realized he had dreamed again, but he was too tired to think much of it and quickly fell back to sleep.
It wasn’t until the alarm clock rang that Shen Wenzhou woke up. He took the alarm clock from the nightstand, turned it off, and put it back.
Shen Wenzhou sat on the edge of the bed, his mind groggy, as if he had pulled an all-nighter, barely getting to rest before being rudely awakened.
After sitting for a while, Shen Wenzhou remembered that he had woken up several times last night due to a nightmare.
Thinking of the nightmare, Shen Wenzhou still had some vague impressions, his brow creased slightly as he got up and walked toward the bathroom to wash up.
By the time Shen Wenzhou had finished in the bathroom and came downstairs, laughter was coming from the living room.
Shen Wenzhou looked over and saw his father, Shen Yi, impeccably dressed in a suit, his hair combed without a hair out of place, and a pair of rimless glasses on his nose, standing there somewhat helplessly while his sister, Ye Chaochao, took photos of him.
"Are we done?" Shen Yi asked with a hint of helplessness.
"All done!" Ye Chaochao, after taking the photos, went over to Shen Yi with her phone, "You look so handsome, mom will love you even more now!"
Shen Yi, hearing this, shook his head helplessly. He had a business meeting this morning, so he took extra care in getting ready. Chaochao saw him and insisted on taking photos to show their mother.
"Dad." Shen Wenzhou politely greeted after coming downstairs.
Upon hearing his voice, Ye Chaochao hurried over, "Brother, doesn’t Dad look very handsome today?"
Shen Wenzhou nodded, "Hmm, very handsome."
"I’m sending the photos to Mom right now." Ye Chaochao quickly busied herself with editing the photos on her phone.
Shen Yi, though resigned, didn’t stop Ye Chaochao’s actions but simply told her, "Come eat breakfast first, or you’ll be late for school."
Ye Wanwan hadn’t gotten up yet, so the three of them went to the dining room and sat down to start breakfast.
It had always been , but Shen Wenzhou felt something was slightly off as he sat down. However, when he looked around the dining room, he couldn’t pinpoint anything amiss.
"What’s wrong?" Shen Yi suddenly asked.
Shen Wenzhou, startled by the voice, snapped back to reality and saw his father looking at him. He paused for two seconds, then shook his head, "Nothing."
"You look a bit pale, did you not rest well last night?" Shen Yi asked with concern.
Shen Wenzhou hesitated, recalling the restless sleep and waking from nightmares multiple times last night.
But when Shen Wenzhou tried to recall the nightmare again, he was suddenly unable to remember anything, even though he had some memory of it when he just got up!
Shen Wenzhou’s mind momentarily stalled as he tried to recollect the nightmare from last evening but couldn’t remember anything at all.
About those nightmares, he now had no impression whatsoever, as though he had never experienced any nightmares to begin with.
"Don’t feel pressured about the incident yesterday, both your mom and I trust you," Shen Yi guessed that the issue with being called to the school yesterday must have still been affecting Zhouzhou.
Shen Wenzhou had been trying hard to remember the whole time, but he couldn’t bring anything to mind.
