"Why don’t you dare look into my eyes?"
"Because they’re too beautiful. I’m afraid my soul will be sucked in."
"Ha!" Fu Xing scoffed, "Lin Fu, do you really think I’m that gullible, to believe your nonsense?"
"Come back immediately."
As soon as the voice fell, the video ended.
Lin Fu instantly felt like a frost-bitten eggplant, even more afraid to go back now, her mind filled with the news brought by Lin Qingfeng.
It was simply deadly.
She was courting death!
Daring to toy with Fu Xing’s feelings, she had even trapped herself in the process. How was she going to end this?
"Lady, I’ve come to pick you up." Randall appeared before Lin Fu with a whoosh, his words polite, but his eyes full of disapproval.
"Lady should not play at disappearing. The Commander has been very worried about you, and it took a lot of effort to find you, even sealing off the First Military Command College."
"Lady doesn’t need to apologize to me. I’m not in a position to accept your apology. You should say it to the Commander."
Lin Fu stepped onto the flying device, but her speed was very slow, almost skimming the ground. Randall wasn’t in a hurry either, following her at a leisurely pace. It was clear that Lin Fu was in some sort of trouble.
"Lady, is this about Lin Qingfeng?"
"Yeah!" Lin Fu nodded. She had guessed that Fu Xing’s people must have detected Lin Qingfeng’s trail by now, and they might still be matching wits! After all, the First Military Command College was not only Fu Xing’s alma mater, but also Lin Qingfeng’s.
Both of them were very familiar with the place, but she believed Lin Qingfeng could escape if Fu Xing didn’t intervene personally.
If Fu Xing took action himself, dear old dad was in danger.
"Yes, the Commander has been looking for Lin Qingfeng. His trail leads to the First Military Command College and disappeared. Given that you’re here, too, he must have come for you."
"Since the father and daughter have met, why not let Lin Qingfeng come out? Our Commander hasn’t even met his father-in-law yet. It would be proper to let our Commander personally entertain him."
"Ha ha..." Even if someone lent Lin Qingfeng the courage, he wouldn’t dare.
"Is it inconvenient?"
"I’m not sure." Lin Fu knew that speaking more would lead to mistakes, so she simply answered everything with uncertainty. After all, she had amnesia and didn’t remember much.
Randall was far more cunning than Lin Fu. After a series of probes, he almost knew everything he needed to know.
"Lady, if you encounter any trouble, you should be frank with the Commander. He can help you with anything."

At the doorstep of Fu Xing’s quarters, Randall didn’t go in but left quietly. The villa’s lights were off, and the weather on Capital Star was not good today either—dark clouds hung heavily in the sky. Lin Fu, with a mind full of worries, couldn’t concentrate.
She didn’t notice when pushing the door and applied too much force, causing half of the door to swing open with a clatter. Her hand missed its grip, and she toppled forward. Just as she was about to face-plant on the floor, she was suddenly scooped up into an embrace.
It turned out Fu Xing had been leaning to one side, just watching her.
Lin Fu had not noticed.
"Why so careless? What are you thinking about?" Fu Xing’s lips brushed against her ear, whispering softly.
Lin Fu’s body shivered, her whole side going weak, "I’m not thinking about anything."
"Lin Qingfeng isn’t your father, is he?"
"Why would you say that? Doesn’t Lin Qingfeng resemble my father?"
