The Daily Life Of A Cyberpunk Magician Chapter 171

After that, he asked Jiang Shu, "Are you coming? This operation might be dangerous."

"I?" Jiang Shu put on a pair of running shoes designed for comfort, "Of course, I’m coming. It’s such an interesting... No, the main reason I’m coming is that it’s a good opportunity to catch the fox."

"..." Upon hearing his response, Wolf felt helpless and said, "Make sure you’ve thought it through. We’re short on manpower, and it might be very dangerous."

"No problem, I’ll just follow you guys and protect those ten people." Jiang Shu smiled, "Either those ten people aren’t the target, and everything will be fine; or Deception Group’s real target is them, and those Deception people, they don’t love harming the innocent."

The most crucial point also was that he was quite sure Deception Group would not consider him the primary target. That was the reason he felt so fearless, not to mention he now also had sufficient self-protective abilities.

The only point he needed to consider was not to be seen by others when using Derivative Entries.

"Alright, then hurry up and come over, first to the police station. I’m already on the way to find those ten people, we’ll meet at the police station shortly," said Wolf, speaking rapidly.

Jiang Shu nodded and then asked, "By the way, what do you want for breakfast? Tacos, or pan-fried dumplings? There are still some semi-finished products in the fridge."

"..." Rendered speechless once again, Wolf raised his voice in a mix of anger and annoyance, "In this kind of emergency, are you still planning to take your time making breakfast?"

"What do you want to eat?"

"Tacos, and add extra avocado sauce."

Then, Wolf hung up the phone. Before the call ended, Jiang Shu heard the sound of a car engine roaring to life.

"Snort." Jiang Shu let out a sound of disdain through his nose, then opened the fridge and got out thirty dumplings.

He still wanted to eat pan-fried dumplings. Asking Wolf...

was really just asking what he wanted to eat, nothing more.

---

Thirty minutes later, Jiang Shu opened the car door and stepped out of the taxi.

The police station nearby had already set up security lines, and the police had placed blockades at both ends of the station’s street. Surveillance drones circled overhead, while street cameras monitored with 360-degree angles.

This was District B, fundamentally different from the EF District. And this time with White Hat’s involvement, it was not so easy to infiltrate the drones or the surveillance.

Jiang Shu glanced at Xiao Jia and shelved his dangerous thoughts.

Although he wanted to try and see if the Tablet Spirits could use Sister Ruo’s hacking modules to directly breach White Hat’s online defenses, the thought of being discovered and then arrested made him back down a bit.

At the checkpoint, two officers stood guard, accompanied by two police dogs – one an electronic dog made of machinery, and the other a German Shepherd.

Jiang Shu walked up and showed his ID. In fact, every officer at the Seventh District Police Station knew him.

"Mr. Jiang, hello." Both officers smiled at him, checked his ID on a machine, and then let him inside the checkpoint.

"Mhm, hello," Jiang Shu nodded to the two men and walked past the checkpoint.

Throughout this time, Xiao Yi vibrated continuously, simulating his fear and trembling as it clung to Jiang Shu’s pant leg, nervously watching the electronic dog eyeing it menacingly.

Suddenly, the electronic dog’s legs buckled, and it sat down on the ground. The nearby officers hurried to check on the electronic dog.

Seeing this, Xiao Yi patted its "bread loaf" hands against its chest and then turned off the vibration mode.

Once they had moved a bit farther away, Jiang Shu asked Xiao Yi, "Can you also work on electronic dogs?"

Xiao Yi nodded and sent out a barrage of text.

Yi: I can affect any electronic product with a certain level of intelligence, and using Technique entries consumes far less electricity than the other three.

Is that so?

Jiang Shu silently nodded, then quickly walked with Xiao Yi toward the direction of the police station, while Jia, Bing, and Ding followed behind.

The entire street had been put under martial law, not a single person was out, looking eerily deserted.

Only vendors were on this street, no residents, and they prudently chose to close for the day under the robust intervention of the police station.

Not closing wouldn’t make much difference; there were no customers left, and furthermore, a large-scale gunfight might occur. No one in District B wanted to die in such a senseless case.

If it had been District EF, vendors might have pulled a long gun from under the bar and boldly told the officers, "Don’t worry, let them come."

After all, whoever could run a stable business in District EF had plenty of stories behind them.

At the entrance to the police station, another officer stood guard. Upon seeing Jiang Shu, he opened the large gate of the police station to let Jiang Shu in.

"They’re waiting for you in the meeting hall, Mr. Jiang," the officer told him.

"Mhm, thanks." Jiang Shu thanked him with a nod and walked into the police station.

The entire police station was quiet, with only a few officers stationed at critical points. Most of the rooms were locked with electronic locks.

"Have all the other officers left?" Jiang Shu peered through the glass at the office area; the desks were in disarray, showing that the officers had left in a rush.

He knocked on the meeting hall door and, soon enough, Kirie, wearing a white lab coat, opened it. She stepped back to let Jiang Shu in and closed the door after he entered.

Inside the meeting hall were a dozen officers, and in a corner sat ten men in suits and ties, some nervous, some frowning in deep thought.
