The Duke's Masked Wife 2: The Prince's Outcast Bride Chapter 336

Jonas covered his ears after a gun was fired behind him. His life flashed before his eyes, and he thought his body went into shock since he didn’t feel the pain right away, but he witnessed Victor fall, and the prince grabbed his shoulder.

Jonas was confused by what happened at first, but after a moment, he realised that someone behind him had first shot, aiming for Victor. Then Victor and Tyrion shot at each other.

Tyrion stood up, his bloody shirt the least of his concerns. He carefully walked over to Victor, who had been shot between the eyes and once in his chest.

Tyrion aimed his gun again, shooting Victor in his chest to ensure he was dead.

"Aiden, you’ve got good aim," Tyrion said, addressing the one who made the first shot.

Aiden entered the room with his gun in his hand. "I saw him inching to pull his trigger first," he said.

"You didn’t hit the two men standing in front of you. I’ll have to make use of you more in the future," Tyrion said, since good aim was hard to come by.

Aiden’s aim was perfect.

Aiden couldn’t celebrate for long upon seeing the wound Tyrion had. "Your highness, your shoulder. We need to get to a doctor fast. He fired his gun when he heard mine."

Tyrion placed his hand over the wound he suffered. It was unbearable, but something he was certain he could survive.

"It’s going to be hard to hide this from her. Find me a good doctor. I need this bullet out," Tyrion said as the pain started to grow. "I should wear armour next time."

"You should let us go in your place. We are all willing to die for you," said Aiden.

"I would rather you not die for me. Escort all the workers out and find them somewhere to rest for the night. I’ll go to the palace in the morning to arrange what to do with them," Tyrion decided.

Aiden frowned, thinking Tyrion must have lost his mind. "You can’t go to the palace tomorrow. Even if we get the bullet out, you need to rest and not overwork your shoulder. You could get an infection or make the wound worse."

"You remind me of my mother. Instead of worrying about what will become of me, do what I said and get me a doctor. Get me some alcohol while you’re at it," Tyrion said, in need of something strong to take his mind off the pain.

"Your highness, what do we do about him?" A knight asked, pointing to Jonas. "The others are all dead."

"Kill him, too. We can’t leave him lonely," Tyrion replied.

Jonas’s eyes widened.

Jonas didn’t have any part in Victor wanting the prince’s wife.

"Your highness, I am innocent," Jonas pleaded his case..

Tyrion turned around after hearing Jonas. "Were you secretly working to free the men and women working here? You were cocky a moment ago when you spoke of your boss, but now, you are innocent?"

Tyrion gave Jonas the chance to speak of what he had done right.

"The tables tend to turn quickly. You must hope your God will have mercy on you and give you a second chance in another life," Tyrion said, his gun positioned for Jonas’s chest.

Tyrion knew no good waited here in the brothel besides the workers who were sold into this life. He pulled the trigger before Jonas could come up with a lie.

The men and women who willingly worked for Victor received their fair share of earnings for doing his dirty work. They should follow Victor now in death.

Tyrion walked out of the small room to flames spreading.

Women gathered what they could and ran out. Some were clothed, while others covered themselves with a blanket. Each one, he would do his best to help them, but Tyrion knew it was going to be hard to pull them away from this life.

"Don’t let them wander to other brothels. Tell them that they are free and I will care for them until they find their way. I need,’ Tyrion stopped talking as he grabbed a glass filled with something and poured it on his shoulder.

Tyrion winced from the pain that followed.

It was the first time Tyrion had ever been shot, and the pain was unbearable for him, to never want to be shot again.

Tyrion followed the knights out before he could be consumed by the flames.

Outside the brothel, onlookers gathered since it was a strange sight to see Victor’s brothel of all brothels going up in flames.

Unbeknownst to Tyrion and his knights, a carriage was placed not too far away, watching what occurred.

"The prince looks injured. We should kill him now so he’ll be out of the way," Cassius suggested.

"Patience, brother. It won’t be any fun for me if I lose such a good player now. The prince must survive," Quinn said, watching Tyrion closely. "He’s proving to be more interesting than the duke."

"He must have killed Victor. You weren’t done with what you were using Victor for," Cassius reminded Quinn.

Cassius didn’t understand his brother.

One moment, Quinn told Cassius not to do anything to get Tyrion’s attention, but now Quinn wanted to toy with Tyrion.

It couldn’t be that Quinn had some growing interest in Penelope.

Cassius couldn’t think of the last time Quinn had any interest in a woman.

No matter how beautiful a woman Cassius sent to please his brother, each lady would share the same unfortunate fate.

’Is it the prince he wants?’ Cassius wondered.

It was the only explanation for why Quinn wouldn’t use this moment to kill the prince while he seemed to be injured.

"Get rid of the bodies of the prostitutes where the guards can see them. The prince solved my issue of having to lie to Victor about what happened to those whores. How did he know that I was coming for Victor tonight?" Quinn asked himself.

"You were coming to kill Victor? I thought you had plans to help him rule the brothel?"

Quinn’s smile fell upon hearing what Cassius said.

Why couldn’t his brother ever pay attention?

"When did I say that I was going to make Victor rule anything? Why would I choose him to rule anything when I could do it myself? He reminds me of the bastard’s mother and I had to work for, so tell me, what made you think those were my plans?" Quinn asked, gripping the cane he used for decoration.

Cassius gulped, looking away from Quinn so it wouldn’t appear as though he was picking a fight. "I’m sorry," he apologised.
