"Is the Woolery Family really that powerful?"
When Carson Flores heard this, he couldn’t help but ask.
Samantha Tate explained, "In every city, entrepreneurs and businessmen, these new rich, continue to emerge. They integrate into the upper class of the city, becoming the new elite. But in every place, there are always a few established powerhouses that have always existed, deeply rooted and with influence that penetrates various industries and even official circles, possessing astonishing power."
Carson Flores immediately understood, "So the Woolery Family is one of Polgel’s old money powers?"
Samantha Tate nodded, "Yes, the Woolery Family is a Cultivator Family in Polgel, and they’ve been entrenched here for at least fifty years. Over that time, the Woolery Family’s business has spread across various industries, their tentacles extending into all major government departments. Officials in Polgel come and go, but the influence of the Woolery Family remains unaffected. They are the true ’emperors’ of this territory."
Carson laughed, "That being the case, doesn’t that make the Woolery Family unbeatable, doing whatever they please?"
"Pretty much, but to say they are unmatched is not entirely true."
Samantha Tate corrected, "In Polgel, there are other Cultivator Families, not just the Woolery Family. There are the Howell and Browning Families as well, and together, they are known as the three major families of Polgel."
Samantha Tate turned her head worryingly, "Wenwen, that second young master from the Woolery Family won’t do anything to you, right?"
Ye Wen’s face showed distress, "I’ve already left, and I won’t see him again in the future, so I should be fine, right?"
Samantha Tate asked, "What are you planning to do about your boyfriend’s attitude?"
Ye Wen bit her lip, "I’ll talk to him when I get back; if he still doesn’t think he’s wrong, then we’ll break up!"
Carson Flores did not chime in regarding Ye Wen’s situation. Firstly, they were not close, and secondly, in these kinds of situations, what matters most is the person’s own attitude; others’ persuasion is usually futile.
You never know, you may earnestly advocate for a breakup now, but they might reconcile as soon as she returns, sweet as ever, and you’ll end up looking bad from both sides.
They hadn’t finished eating when Ye Wen received a call from her boyfriend. Soon after, he drove over and picked her up.
"Do you think they will break up?"
Carson Flores shook his head, "No."
Samantha Tate laughed, "Why do you say that?"
Carson Flores chuckled, "Ye Wen is quite satisfied with her current situation. She may be venting and complaining, but deep down, she has already forgiven her boyfriend, otherwise, she wouldn’t have left so quickly after receiving a phone call, without even showing a hint of anger."
Samantha Tate said in surprise, "You seem to understand women quite well."
Carson Flores shook his head, "I don’t understand women, I just understand human nature."
Samantha Tate said with a smile, "Well, a woman chooses her man, and whether it’s bitter or sweet, she has to accept it... Have you finished eating? Let’s go watch a movie."
In the movie theater, Samantha Tate leaned her whole body against Carson Flores’s shoulder, took the initiative to hold his hand, their fingers intertwined.
"Brother, I should be considered your girlfriend now, right?"
Carson Flores turned his head, just about to reply, but Samantha Tate’s right hand gently covered his mouth.
"If you don’t say anything, I’ll take it as consent."
Carson Flores was amused by Samantha Tate’s words, feeling touched at the same time.
She must be afraid that he would deny it, or perhaps mention having a fiancée or wife or something, so she simply wouldn’t let him reply, moving to "solidify" the relationship.
"No matter what you think, I’ve already decided on you. The man I choose, no matter what the future holds, I will accept."
Carson Flores reached out to take Samantha Tate’s hand off his mouth, then kissed it.
Samantha Tate immediately revealed a touching radiance in her eyes, turned around, hugged Carson Flores’s neck, and actively offered a kiss.
Carson Flores did not refuse.
With Samantha Tate’s words to this extent, if he continued to hesitate, it would be meaningless.
