Carson said with a smile, “I landed a deal worth eighteen million yesterday…”

Carson chuckled, “Of course.”
Shirley’s voice returned to its calm state, “Well, congratulations to you.
You’ll get a sizable commission and won’t have to worry about being fired.”
Carson replied with a smirk, “That’s not necessarily the case.”
Shirley was smart and immediately sensed there was a problem, “What happened?”
Carson recounted how Sergio Combs destroyed the contract he had signed, took it to Waylen James in private to sign a new deal, including the detailed conversation between Sergio and Waylen.
Shirley’s tone had a few more notes of surprise, “Director James told you this?”
“Director James will only sign contracts with you, not with anyone else from the Miller Group?”
Shirley asked doubtfully, “How did you manage that?”
Shirley found it hard to comprehend.
Carson was new to the scene, a stranger in these parts.
