Carson Flores’s expression grew grave; obviously, the attacker wasn’t from another Sect team, otherwise, they wouldn’t have left these backpacks behind.
The attacker was most likely not human.
There was an unknown hunter in this Underground City, lurking in the darkness, preying on them, the invaders.
Since the attack had just happened, was the attacker still lurking in the darkness, silently watching him, looking for a chance to prey on him?
That sensation of being watched reemerged, stronger than before, as if he stood in a square surrounded by crowds of people who suddenly all turned their heads to stare malevolently at him.
A chill ran up Carson Flores’s spine, he shone his flashlight around and then climbed over the wall beside him, rushing into the building.
Carson Flores picked up an oil lamp from inside the building, walked straight to the woodshed, smashed the lamp into the pile of firewood, and ignited it.
The flames rose in an instant, and Carson Flores grabbed a bunch of burning straw, immediately setting fire to everything combustible in the building.
Everything was very dry and caught fire quickly, soon the flames enveloped the inside of the house and began to spread to the roof.
The entire house was ablaze.
Carson Flores suddenly broke through one corner of the house and dashed outside.
