Carson Flores’s mood was rather delicate.
The good news was that he had confirmed his parents’ whereabouts, knowing they had indeed been taken back to Mount Kahdas Cave Heaven by that powerful Miss Tang. Once back in Mount Kahdas Cave Heaven, with the rich spiritual energy as a base, healing them shouldn’t be a problem, right?
Just like Samantha Tate, with the sparse spiritual energy in the mortal world, there was no way to heal her, not even the esteemed Mr. Qin could manage it. But once inside the Cave Heaven, Mr. Qin was able to heal her quickly and easily.
Carson wondered if Miss Tang and his father would have any further stories in the future. If not, wouldn’t she bear a grudge against his parents? If they met again in the future, would she want to kill him, in a way that left her feeling satisfied, just like Gunner Tate wanted?
"Is there any other story?"
Quinn Cobb shook his head, "Even if there really was something, it’s often only clear to those involved, and they typically wouldn’t talk about it everywhere. I only know of this matter..."
Carson Flores nodded, not pressing the issue, and said, "Alright, enough small talk. Let’s discuss the matter of compensation."
Quinn Cobb’s eyes changed, his face filled with bitterness, "Mr. Flores, what kind of compensation do you want?"
Carson Flores smiled and said, "I don’t want money; given the way your sect condones deception and extortion, that money can’t be clean. We are cultivators, after all, so show me something good related to cultivation. As long as it satisfies me, I won’t require your unreserved allegiance, and we can write off our grievances. I’ll go my way to Mount Kahdas, and you can continue being the king of your mountain."
Since the Tie Mu Sect had run afoul of him, they had to pay a price. Otherwise, if these people kept troubling him time and again, wouldn’t he be at a loss?
Just as Quinn Cobb was about to speak, Carson’s tone turned cold, threatening, "Don’t try to fool me with trash. Carson Flores was actually quite satisfied already from unexpectedly learning his parents’ whereabouts from Quinn Cobb. Threatening Quinn for compensation for emotional distress was essentially taking a swing whether there were dates to hit or not, yet he had stumbled upon an unexpected windfall.
Extorting Quinn Cobb, Carson naturally didn’t feel the slightest bit embarrassed. If he wasn’t stronger than Quinn, he might not necessarily have been killed, but there was no telling what kind of extortion he would have been subjected to.
With great reluctance, Quinn Cobb took out the elixir, and Carson Flores collected it without any fuss.
Any elixir that could enhance strength was something Carson would never consider too much.
Watching the figures of Carson Flores and Lilly Compton leaving, Quinn Cobb heaved a long sigh of relief.
At last, he had sent off this plague-like presence.
Randy James approached, speaking in a low voice, "We’ve suffered such a big loss, just like that?"
Quinn Cobb retorted, "What else? Do you think you can win against him?"
Randy James had no reply, "I just don’t get how this kid trained so well; so young, and his strength is already at least that of a Peak Great Master..."
Quinn Cobb sighed, "This fellow has been persistently inquiring about The Unknown Land of Kahdas. He might be like many other Cultivators, a seeker of immortality with ideas, or perhaps he has some significant relation to The Unknown Land of Kahdas. Do you still remember what Westin Flores looked like when he was taken away by Miss Tang years ago?"
Randy James was momentarily stunned, "I have a vague memory. He was quite young, quite handsome, uh, now that you mention it, I feel Carson Flores looks a lot like that Westin Flores, and they share the same surname too..."
Quinn Cobb nodded, "Yes, Carson Flores had registered at the inn he stayed in. Twenty-seven years old—what comes to mind?"
Randy James gasped in shock, his eyes widening, "Could he be the son of that Westin Flores?"
Quinn Cobb spoke, "Maybe he is, maybe he isn’t, but we dare not say for sure. He’s only twenty-seven, and we can’t afford to provoke him. That’s why I surrendered so shamelessly and offered even the last elixir. I do not wish for a repeat of the events from twenty-seven years ago."
As they were speaking, Quinn Cobb’s phone suddenly rang. He took the call, and his eyes widened suddenly.
After hanging up, Quinn Cobb looked at Randy James with shocked eyes.
