Carson stored the Water-Fire Mirror and sat down quietly beside the fire, waiting for Killian to awaken.
Half an hour later, amidst the flickering firelight, Killian slowly opened her eyes, then closed them again, feeling the state of her body.
To her amazement, Killian found that all her injuries had healed!
Killian clenched her fingers twice, confirming that her body had no anomalies and she could fight at any time. She opened her eyes, turned her head, and looked at the man next to the fire.

In the latter stages of her treatment by Carson, she was mostly in her senses and felt something pressing against her heart, continuously channeling Spiritual Energy and nourishing her body, treating her.
Aware upon waking that there was nothing unusual about herself, she guessed that the other party had acted this way to save her. Originally considering how to inquire about it, he had spoken quite frankly of his own accord.
Carson’s smile was gentle, his demeanor calm and his gaze clear, instantly convincing one of his sincerity.
Killian was not unreasonable; despite slight embarrassment, she bore no resentment, only gratitude.
If not for this man, she would soon have been caught by the Snow Dragon Leopard King, likely leaving her only one path: death, ending up as food in the belly of the Snow Dragon Leopard King.
He had saved her life.
Killian changed the subject, not dwelling on her body being touched, "Thank you for saving me. Did the Snow Dragon Leopard King not pursue you?"
Carson casually fabricated a response, "I was lucky, somehow he gave up the chase after a while."
Killian uttered an "Oh," not suspecting his explanation. After all, in her view, if the Snow Dragon Leopard King had relentlessly pursued them, how could Carson have withstood it? They both would have been dead long ago, and there would be no chance for this conversation by the fire.
