Brian James answered, "Carson Flores, the one who killed Drake Bernard."
Ah Long said dismissively, "Him? I could take him down by myself, no need for four people."
Brian James frowned, "He defeated Quick Blade and killed Iron Fist and Evil Ghost when they teamed up. He’s very strong."
Ah Long chuckled, "Quick Blade? Those guys are all talk and no action. Their skills are only good enough to scare ordinary people. In the ranks of us martial artists, they don’t even count as beginners. I can take on the three of them by myself without any issues."
"Better safe than sorry!"
Brian James didn’t bother with Ah Long’s boasting and ordered directly, "The four of you go together and make it clean."
Ah Long had no choice but to agree, "Alright, boss."
After Ah Long left, Brian James called his secretary in, "Get me the phone number of the person in charge of the corporate environment rectification inspection team in the city. On my behalf, invite him for dinner tonight."
Carson Flores was on the couch watching television when the sound of high heels striking the floor echoed.
Shirley Miller was back.
Carson Flores looked up, "You’re back."
Shirley Miller didn’t head upstairs as she usually did but sat directly opposite Carson Flores, her beautiful and spirited eyes staring straight at him.
"The Golden Sunshine Investment, did you help with that?"
Carson Flores feigned surprise, "What are you talking about?"
Shirley Miller repeated, "The money from Golden Sunshine Investment, did you help facilitate that? I’ve never heard my father mention having such a friend, and all these years, there’s been no contact whatsoever..."
Carson Flores smiled, "Two hundred and fifty million. Do you think I have that kind of clout?"
Shirley Miller pursed her lips, doubting the possibility, but her intuition told her it had something to do with Carson Flores.
Could it really be such a coincidence?
"Just tell me, was it you?"
Carson Flores denied without hesitation, "It wasn’t me. I arrived late this morning, just in time to meet them at the door. They asked for you, and I told them you were in a senior management meeting. They said it was urgent business regarding a loan, so I quickly led them to the conference room."
Two shades of bewilderment flashed in Shirley Miller’s eyes. She had contemplated the situation all day. The more she thought about it, the stranger it seemed, and the more she felt Carson Flores was involved.
Now with Carson Flores’s firm denial, Shirley Miller inexplicably felt a bit of disappointment.
Was it really not Carson Flores?
