I don’t know what the devil she’s been eating, but in a few months, she’s managed to trim off all her fat and before you know it, she’s transformed into a stunning beauty.
No wonder Ya Molian has taken a liking to her, hanging around her every day. Even this old man can’t help but be moved when looking at Lin Caisang’s face now.

Given the mess I’ve made here in the Lin Family today, I need to think about how to deal with the elders of the Ya Clan tomorrow. After all, everyone’s expecting Lin Caisang’s double-crop rice.

"Is there any way to ruin the engagement between these two?" He tapped his hand on the table, his brows furrowing deeply.
"Grandfather, what are you talking about?"
Ya Yulan was sitting beside him, hearing his constant mutterings, he couldn’t help but ask.
He had just returned from town but had already heard about today’s incident. Yu Ju had gone to make a scene at Lin Caisang’s house as soon as she returned. He couldn’t help but speak up about his grandfather’s dealings. Was it really Ya Yuju’s place to create a fuss at Lin Caisang’s?
It wouldn’t be too bad if Ya Yuju was the only one causing a fuss, after all, she’s just a young girl. But what was his grandfather, of such status, doing getting involved in the drama?
This was bound to escalate things for sure.
"What do you think I’m thinking? Of your bride, right? Weren’t you trying to marry Lin Caisang? Now that Ya Molian has set his sights on her, I’m afraid your potential engagement with Lin Caisang is off!"
The Clan Chief Ya glared at his grandson with a huff.
Hearing his grandfather’s words, he was truly incensed.
"Grandfather, have you gone mad? When was I ever going to marry Lin Caisang? I certainly never thought about it!"
Has his grandfather lost his mind over money and wealth, blaming it on him? Ya Molian didn’t seem like somebody you could mess with. Hunting in the mountains every day, dragging large prey around without batting an eye, how could he, a scholar, compete with Ya Molian?
Was his grandfather trying to get him killed?
"You might not have thought about it when Lin Caisang was ugly. Now that she’s beautiful, you should reconsider." Clan Chief Ya put it bluntly.
His refusal to marry Lin Caisang had nothing to do with whether Lin Caisang was fat or thin, ugly or beautiful, right?
"Grandfather, don’t delude yourself with such beautiful fantasies. It’s far more important to handle Yu Ju well. Didn’t you see the faces she’s losing you outside?"
"How will she get married if she continues this way!"
"Not get married? "Clan Chief Ya glared at his grandson.
"Even if she doesn’t get married, doesn’t Ya Molian still exist? Have him come to us, become a son-in-law who moves into the wife’s household. I don’t believe that such a wonderful arrangement won’t make him happy."
In his heart, although Ya Molian seemed unwilling to others, he never really liked Yu Ju. But once he secretly urges him not to mention it in public, Ya Molian would definitely agree.
Having someone love him should make him grateful!
What other expectations could he have?
And does he really believe that Lin Caisang would like him? Lin Caisang’s sights are set high. Maybe today, she’s engaged, and the next day, she’s laying eyes on another man and kicks Ya Molian to the curb!
