Observing the precarious situation, Father Ya quickly dropped what was in his hands and rushed over, with Ya Yulan following closely behind.
However, could they, a simple farmer and a scholar, possibly stand a chance against these men? They were immediately dragged into the main hall, along with Mother Ya who had emerged from the room.
Soon after, the five members of the Ya Family were gathered in the hall, and even worse, Clan Chief Ya was forced to kneel on the ground. Across from him, Zhe Jue looked at him contemptuously.
"You were quite capable before, weren’t you? What’s wrong now? Are your legs weak, or your tongue tied, that you can’t speak?"
Clan Chief Ya dared not even breathe too loudly. He darted a look at Zhe Jue, his lips trembling in fear, his entire body curling up on the floor.
Ya Yuju was being held captive, with a black cloth stuffed in her mouth. She was so scared she was near passing out. It made no difference whether the black cloth was in her mouth or not, because she didn’t even dare to cry out now.
"Who are you, and why have you invaded my home?"
Of the Ya Family members, only Ya Yulan showed some courage and asked Zhe Jue directly.
"You should ask your grandfather that. If it weren’t for his ’good deeds’, why would we bother coming to your home?" Zhe Jue looked at Clan Chief Ya, whose face turned even paler on hearing his words.
"You, you... I know nothing, nothing at all." he muttered, shaking his head.
Zhe Jue squatted down so that his gaze was level with Clan Chief Ya, and stared coldly at him.
"Do you mean to tell me that you heard nothing when you were eavesdropping outside my master’s courtyard? Or are you saying that it wasn’t you who instructed Ya Yuju, this wretched woman, to go to my master’s bed? Huh?"
He reached out and grabbed the collar of Clan Chief Ya, hauling him up to his face.
"You’re an old man now. Instead of enjoying your twilight years at home, you are involved in these nefarious acts. Tell me, how should I deal with your entire family, hmm?"
Just then, all the bones in Clan Chief Ya’s body seemed to become soft with fear. If not for Zhe Jue’s grip, he would have slipped to the floor.
With a loud "smack", Ya Yulan had barely begun to voice his revelation when a young ugly woman next to him silenced him with a slap.
"Shut up! Nobody asked you to speak!" she snapped, glaring furiously at Ya Yulan.
Ya Yulan tasted blood in his mouth due to the slap. He leaned forward, spitting out a mouthful of blood.
Father Ya and Mother Ya saw their son getting hurt. They wanted to speak, but dared not utter a word in front of these people. Tearfully, they stayed quiet on the side.
"Clan Chief Ya, I’ll ask you one thing - how many times have you eavesdropped on my master, and where did you hide to do it?" Zhe Jue asked.
Even now, he couldn’t understand how Clan Chief Ya had been shrewd enough to eavesdrop under their noses. How could his subordinates - and even his master - not have noticed?
This was indeed worth pondering.

How could Clan Chief Ya dare to admit it now? As soon as he heard Zhe Jue’s words, he quickly shook his head.
However, before he could finish speaking, an intense pain shot through his right wrist, causing him to cry out in agony. But he couldn’t even make a sound as a hand was gripping his throat, restraining his voice.
