She was furious, using all her strength, so much so that Ruan Chi’s face was wrenched to one side and even a streak of blood appeared at the corner of his mouth.
Never expecting her to lash out like a madwoman, the watching Ruanlin Family matriarch flew into a rage, charging at Liao Zhaoji and began to fight viciously, "You heartless wretch, are you insane? How dare you hit my grandson, I’ll have your life!"
Liao Zhaoji dared rage against Ruan Chi and the others, but she didn’t dare to retaliate against Ruanlin Family. Liao Zhaoji screamed out in pain, her hair yanked by Ruanlin Family, her face slapped back and forth by Ruanlin Family, looking utterly pitiable.
Seeing her son intervene, Ruanlin Family finally released her grip on Liao Zhaoji, but still viciously spat at her, "Next time you dare lay a finger on them, I’ll chop you to pieces! Pah!"
After saying that, she approached Ruan Chi, grabbed his arm, and growled, "And you, you idiot! Don’t you know enough to dodge?" While her mouth scolded, her eyes were filled with distress as she took him back to her room.
Ruan Jiaojiao followed along.
The repairs to Ruanlin Family’s quarters were complete. Ruan Chi stood at the door, with his hands held behind him, pressing against the door panel, his head lowered without making a sound, not allowing anyone to see his expression, while Ruanlin Family cursed and bustled around the room looking for medicine.
Ruan Jiaojiao approached Ruan Chi, tentatively reaching out to hold his hand.
Ruan Chi’s hand trembled for a moment, wanting to pull away, but when he saw that it was Ruan Jiaojiao who was holding his hand, he stopped moving, still keeping his head down, not revealing his expression.
Ruan Chi was always so lively, seeing him made Ruan Jiaojiao feel very distressed.
For the first time, she began to doubt and question her own existence.
