The next day, early in the morning, Ruan Jiaojiao was still in her dreams when she heard a cry that could shake the heavens and move spirits from the neighboring Xiu Family, a sound like a groundhog wailing, startling her awake in an instant.

Turning her head to see that Ruan Jiaojiao had risen, the Ruanlin promptly switched to a more tender expression, picked up the coat by the bed and coaxed her, "Jiaojiao is awake, come on, grandma has steamed some milk cakes for you, get up and eat them while they’re warm."
Ruan Jiaojiao wasn’t in the best of health, so the Ruanlin often explored different foods to feed her, trying to nourish her as much as possible.
The milk cakes were a recent learn for her.
Ruan Jiaojiao nodded, reached out her little arms and hugged the Ruanlin with a soft coo before being picked up from the bed to put on her coat. As she squatted down to put on her shoes, the little antagonist had already picked them up and was putting them on her.
"I can put them on myself," Ruan Jiaojiao wriggled her little feet, noting that she was almost six years old now and that she normally dressed herself and put on her shoes, except when she wanted to act spoiled and enjoy the feeling of being pampered.
