"I can buy her some in the future!"
Ruan Jiaojiao fed Xiu Xi and peeled another one for the Ruanlin Family matron. Ruan Jianguo was still chatting with Lu Zhiwei, so she didn’t bother him and fed herself one too.
"It’s really tasty, thank you, Brother Lu." Ruan Jiaojiao sweetly thanked Lu Xian, her eyes sparkling as she looked at him.
Lu Xian, a bit embarrassed, touched the back of his head and said, "If it’s tasty, next time I’ll have your brother bring you some more. We have plenty at my house!"
Watching the soft and tender little girl, Lu Xian couldn’t help but think she was not only beautiful, but her voice sounded as if it was coated with sugar, incredibly sweet.
He understood even more why Ruan Jie liked to talk about his sister so much. Every time after school, he’d buy some snacks to take back home because with Ruan Jiaojiao looking at him, cooing ’brother’ in her sweet voice, his heart would melt. He wished he could give her all the candy he had.
Unlike his sisters at home who were like tigresses, they’d swoop in on sweets the moment they saw them. Once they grabbed them, the treats were theirs and they would never call out sweetly to someone or even say thank you.
Of course, it would be better if there wasn’t this vigilant, intimidating little boy by her side.
Whether by intuition or whatever, Lu Xian subconsciously didn’t little boy, and he could feel that the boy didn’t like him either!
Ruan Jianguo and Lu Zhiwei got along very well; the two stood at the gate chatting for over ten minutes. When Ruan came to his senses, Lu Zhiwei invited, "Since we’ve met by chance, and it’s still early, why don’t we find a place to eat? We can have a good chat."
Lu Zhiwei rarely found someone he clicked with so well. Their conversation seemed endless, and he truly didn’t want to part ways just yet.

The Ruanlin Family matron looked up at the sky. Although she thought about going back via Du Qing’s and by the time they got home it would probably be dark, she had seen a bit of the world and knew that people like Lu Zhiwei were not easy to come by. Not wanting to cut off her son’s social networking, she nodded her head.
The three of them agreed and then chose a restaurant that seemed clean and tidy.
Restaurants in the city were different from those in the towns, with waiters on hand to assist them in ordering. When Lu Zhiwei picked up the menu, instead of choosing for himself, he handed it to the Ruanlin Family matron, "Auntie, take a look and order whatever you’d like. Feel free to choose, my treat!"
"How could we do that? There are many of us, we should do it," Ruan Jianguo insisted.
"I didn’t ask you, and don’t be polite with me. You’ll have plenty of chances to treat me in the future," Lu Zhiwei retorted with an annoyed glance, then smiled at Ruan Jiaojiao, "What would you like to eat, Jiaojiao? Their braised chicken legs here are good; want to try one?"
"Yes, please, thank you, Uncle Lu." Ruan Jiaojiao sweetly thanked him.
"Hahaha, what a generous child, I like that, hahaha..." Lu Zhiwei burst out laughing, his gaze upon Ruan Jiaojiao full of approval. He didn’t like those who were timid and overly polite. He preferred straightforwardness .
Not wanting to seem pretentious by refusing further, the Ruanlin Family matron said nothing, chose a dish, and handed the menu back to Lu Zhiwei.
Lu Zhiwei then turned to the silent Xiu Xi, asking what he would like to eat. Knowing the boy was quiet, the Ruanlin Family matron answered for him, "He’s the same as Jiaojiao; he likes meat. Don’t mind him; you order what you like."
