Upon hearing he could receive 80% of the profits, Miao Hujin quickly gestured a refusal.
He had indeed come to serve as an Alchemist, but he was also a disciple of Yun Haoyan. In his heart, he saw himself first and foremost as a disciple.

After some thought, he offered a compromise:
“How about we split it evenly? You take 50%, and I’ll take 50%.
This is the lowest I’ll go. If you don’t agree, I’m going to get upset!”
Yun Hai offered a resigned smile, raising his hand in a gesture of acquiescence:
“Well, Elder Miao, it seems we’re in your debt.”
He had noticed that Yun Haoyan’s master seemed unconcerned with the division of profits.
“Haha, we’re all one big family here; no need for such formalities among us,” Elder Miao declared with a hearty laugh.
Laughter filled the study at his words.
“Alright, that settles it. Servants, prepare a fine room for Elder Miao, along with an alchemy lab.
And set up a training room for him as well. Ensure everything is top-notch.”
Yun Hai gave the instructions.
“It’s decided then. I’ll retire to my room for some cultivation,” Elder Miao announced, bidding the other elders farewell before departing with the Yun family’s servants.
Yun Haoyan and Yun Tiantian also took their leave, following him out.
“Do you all believe Elder Miao is trustworthy?” Yun Hai inquired, concern lacing his voice once they were gone.
He found it hard to grasp that such an esteemed Pill Master had pledged his services to the Yun family, as if it were all a dream.
Considering that the Bian family had paid a fortune to bring an Alchemist from Ambercoast, and that Alchemist couldn’t even produce a Qi Gathering Pill…
Silkbarrow had no source for Qi Gathering Pills, and neither did the Bian family.
Now, an Alchemist capable of creating such pills had abruptly aligned with the Yun family, and Yun Hai’s apprehension was understandable given the immense profits at stake.

To be frank, even if we offered him the entirety of the Yun family, I doubt he’d have any interest in it.”
