Lin Zhigang was taken aback, then frantically rushed to his backpack and fished out his cellphone.

Chen Hu chuckled softly, his voice oozing faux warmth as he said to Lin Zhigang in a gentle tone,
“I didn’t plan on doing much to your father, but he’s been a bit unruly. To make him obey, I’ve made sure he’ll never speak again.”
“Sorry, I might have been a bit too rough, a matter of habit from the life I’ve led.”
“Here, let me let you hear your dad’s voice.”
There was a burst of noise over the phone, soon followed by Lin Xia’s desperate, hoarse screams.
Lin Zhigang frowned, listening to Lin Xia’s cries, it sounded like something was wrong with his tongue.
Did the man holding his father hostage cut it off?

“What do you want to do? You better not harm my dad. If anything happens to him, I won’t let you go!”

On the other end of the line, Chen Hu said coldly,
“Dr. Lin needn’t worry about it. Am I, her son, not capable of extending my own mother’s life?”

Though she had been lying in bed unconscious, at least her heart was beating, she was breathing.

“I’m not asking Dr. Chen to go to great lengths to smuggle Energy Water Drops out of the city for me.”

“Dr. Lin simply needs to do one thing for me, either kill Hua Mi or steal one of Hua Mi’s children out for me.”
“As long as you can do one of these two things, I will return your father to you.”

“I can’t accomplish either of the two things you’re asking of me.”
