Ji Niandong smiled and met his gaze in the rearview mirror, eyes filled with happiness, no longer evasive!

All the way home, Ji Niandong couldn’t bear to wake the sweetly sleeping Little Bun in her arms. As soon as Lu Beichen got out of the car, he carried Lu Sinian into the house, with Ji Niandong following alongside.

Lu Beichen’s face showed slight displeasure, Ji Niandong noticed and quickly said, "Your dad saw you sleeping and specially carried you in!"
"Why didn’t Sister Tongtong wake me up?" he complained a bit unhappily, starting to throw a little tantrum.
Lu Beichen then said, "Why? Are you blaming your Sister Tongtong now?"
Little Bun pouted and didn’t say anything, rushed straight to the door, entered the password, and went inside.
Ji Niandong went over to hold Lu Beichen’s hand, softly advising, "Don’t be harsh on Nian Nian anymore! He’s a sensitive child, that’s why he’s !"
"Sensitive?" Lu Beichen raised an eyebrow, somewhat puzzled, "As my son, Lu Beichen, he’s not lacking anything, is there a need to be sensitive to anyone’s feelings?"
"Watching yours!" Ji Niandong replied, causing Lu Beichen to pause for a moment.
She held him and continued to stand outside the door, "Nian Nian grew up without a mom, and he thinks you won’t let him recognize his mom. Now you’ve married me and are still harsh on him; he’ll feel you don’t love him! You don’t even know about his beef allergy—maybe you really haven’t considered his feelings?"
It was the first time someone had said this to him!
Lu Beichen fixed his gaze on her, seemingly contemplating something.
Ji Niandong lowered her head slightly, "I, like Nian Nian, didn’t have a mom, so I understand. Although this child is lively and doesn’t say much on the surface, he really cares inside. He still wants to find his mom!"
"Do you want him to find his mom?"
Ji Niandong looked up, not understanding why he was asking her this question.
After a moment’s thought, she replied, "Although I really like Nian Nian, nothing can replace the feeling of having one’s own mom in one’s heart. If I were him, I’d really want to find my mom."
Her eyes revealed a trace of longing, Lu Beichen turned his head away, not meeting her gaze, "Then, if you were his mom, would you want him to find you? Honestly, I really don’t know what his mom is thinking."

Ji Niandong froze for a few seconds. She had thought about this question countless times, desperately wanting to find her own mom. But, did her mom want her to find her?
If she did, why would she disappear without a trace, not come looking for her?

Lu Beichen’s expression subtly shifted, clearly not expecting him to ask such a question.
