Lu Sinian turned his head to look at Lu Beichen, and his pitiful expression made Lu Beichen’s heart soften a bit.
The raised hand quickly dropped down, and he replied leisurely, "A mosquito just bit you!"
"The mosquito must have been frozen to death by the air conditioning, you just wanted to hit me!" He didn’t want to turn back to look at him, just buried his head in Ji Niandong’s arms, grumbling with grievance.
"If I really wanted to hit you, it wouldn’t have been that light!" Lu Beichen replied indifferently.
Ji Niandong thought she had heard a sound!
But if he really wanted to hit him, the sound should’ve been even louder!
She shook her head; both of them have their own little schemes, neither worse than the other, and she quickly mediated, "Yes, it must have been a mosquito, even Sister Tongtong was bitten by one before!"
Lu Sinian felt reassured hearing her say that, and his attitude softened, "Was the mark on Sister Tongtong’s neck earlier a mosquito bite?"
Ji Niandong nodded heavily, "Yes, a mosquito bite, and it was a really big one!"
Lu Beichen’s expression stiffened imperceptibly, but he remained silent.
"Alright then! Seems temperature isn’t enough to freeze those mosquitoes!" He lay slightly on his side, no longer facing Lu Beichen with his back, "Thank you, Mr. Lu!"
After thanking him, he felt somewhat awkward and fidgeted a little.
"No need to thank me!" Lu Beichen replied calmly, then turned off the light. The bedroom fell silent, and only the sound of their breathing could be heard.
Such a peaceful moment of father and son being together was rare and surprisingly undisturbed.
Lu Sinian woke up particularly early the next day because he didn’t sleep comfortably. Sure enough, he found himself kicked to the foot of the bed without knowing when, while the other two huddled together, sleeping soundly.
Sulking, he pursed his little mouth, crawled over, forcefully pulled them apart, and squeezed his tiny body in between them.
They couldn’t be allowed to sleep together and have a baby!
Lu Sinian kicked vigorously and finally squeezed in!
However, all three of them started feeling uncomfortable, Ji Niandong turned over, leaving a space on her side; Lu Sinian took this chance to move over a bit, finally settling himself peacefully.
But the next second, Lu Beichen’s hand rested on his small tummy.
That hand, originally holding Ji Niandong, subconsciously settled on him after he squeezed in.
Lu Sinian’s small body stiffened for a few seconds, then he started moving the hand beside him.
Lu Beichen was initially sleeping on his side, facing him directly; when he lifted the hand, Lu Beichen suddenly opened his eyes.
Lu Sinian’s little face froze, his gaze showing embarrassment, caught mid-action, uncertain of whether to let go or not.
His gaze flickered a few times, waiting for Lu Beichen’s reaction, when unexpectedly, his little hand was grasped back, his small body pulled slightly into an embrace, feeling a chin resting atop his head -- he was being hugged!
What on earth was Mr. Lu doing?!
Lu Sinian struggled for a bit, only to hear a soft voice from above, "Don’t move, just sleep!"
He involuntarily swallowed, blinked his bright eyes a few times, and cleared his throat softly, "Mr. Lu, I’m not Sister Tongtong, you’ve got the wrong person!"
No response came, only the sound of steady breathing above his head.
Lu Sinian could only feel his heart thumping non-stop; what in the world, Mr. Lu wasn’t even his girlfriend, why was he nervous? But it was indeed very awkward!
"Mr. Lu, you’re the one hugging me, you know! I’m not looking to develop a father-son relationship with you, just so you know..."
"Stop fussing, people are trying to sleep!" Ji Niandong, apparently sleep-talking, mumbled from the side.
Lu Sinian was startled, afraid of being discovered in Lu Beichen’s embrace. He remained silent for a few seconds, then said calmly, "Alright, I won’t fuss then!"
He closed his eyes slightly, his little face flushed, long eyelashes trembling gently.
