The man stared at her, his breathing ragged, his amber eyes holding a devouring glow.

"Don’t feel wronged. Except for associating with other men, you can do as you please with anything else!"
An Yan pressed her lips together. For a moment, she didn’t know what to say.
When her breathing had finally calmed, he bent down to kiss her again.
An Yan put her hand against his chest. "Li Tianyao! Don’t you go too far!"
"You’re my fiancée! You were the one who pursued me! So who exactly is being excessive here?"
The man’s gaze was fixed on her eyes, as if he were looking at a heartless player!
An Yan’s face flushed involuntarily. "I, I, isn’t that sort of thing supposed to be done after we’re married?"
The man laughed. "Do you live in ancient times? Are you going to lecture me about how men and women shouldn’t touch? The most I can promise is not to force you to sleep with me before marriage!"
So, should I be thanking you for that?
An Yan glared at him without speaking.
The man gently pinched her cheek. "You don’t like me, do you?"
An Yan remained silent, unsure how to respond.
"But I like you. I like you a lot. So, what are we going to do about that?"
The man’s fingers gently brushed her cheek. "If anyone’s to blame, it’s you for provoking me in the first place!"
An Yan knew that confronting him now would only put her at a greater disadvantage, so she said, "Li Tianyao, I don’t dislike you! I’m serious about our relationship! I’m just unhappy that you’re interfering with my friendships."
The man mused for a moment. "I thought you deliberately stopped wearing your hair in buns and intentionally called me over trivial matters. I suspected it was because you disliked me and were looking for an excuse to leave me by stirring up trouble."
An Yan quickly said, "How could that be? Not wearing my hair in buns is because a woman wants to look her best for the one she admires. And I call you about every little thing because you told me to come to you first with any problem, right?"
Li Tianyao hummed. "Since you like me, then stop thinking about associating with other men! If you behave, I’ll indulge your every wish. But if you don’t listen, then..."
"I know, I won’t be with other men!"
An Yan felt disheartened once more!
It felt as if Li Tianyao was her nemesis.

The man opened his arms.
An Yan frowned. "What for?"
"Fulfill your duty as my fiancée. Let me hold you!"

An Yan remained silent for a few seconds before throwing herself into his arms with a deliberate thud!
Li Tianyao grunted softly.
An Yan wrapped her arms around his neck, smiling as she said, "Comfortable?"
The man’s hand moved from the back of her neck to rub her head a few times. "Naughty!"
After an unknown amount of time, An Yan finally realized the car had stopped. She quickly sat up and nudged Li Tianyao.
"Eat before you go. I’ll take you home later!"
After getting out of the car, An Yan wanted to head to the An residence, but Li Tianyao grabbed her hand.
An Yan was about to say it wasn’t necessary when Li Tianyao added, "You need an alibi!"
An Yan fell silent for a moment and glanced at him. "Then you can’t do that again!"
"Physical contact, Li Tianyao. We’re still in the stage of getting to know each other. We need to exercise restraint."
Having received his affirmation, An Yan followed him back, her mind at ease.
It had to be said that Li Tianyao was truly a man of his word; after promising, he indeed didn’t overstep any boundaries.

An Yan felt so awkward she wanted to bolt, but Li Tianyao held her hand firmly, leaned close to her ear, and whispered, "An alibi!"
An Yan could only cringe, wishing the ground would swallow her whole. Just as she felt she’d cringed enough to bore a three-bedroom apartment into the floor with her toes, Mu Chenyuan and the others finally ended their stilted conversation.
The group hopped into their cars and buzzed away.
Mu Chenyuan chuckled gleefully in the car.
Love really does make people act foolishly.
