Ye Xingguang still stood alone at the bow of the ship, her long hair fluttering in the sea breeze. Her stunningly beautiful features had everyone mesmerized.
Despite confronting distant gun barrels, she remained composed and grounded. With her hands casually tucked into the pockets of her jeans, she laughed, “Are you sure it’s my life hanging in the balance?”
With that said, she suddenly broke into song.
It was a melody higher than those she sang at the presidential banquet, a tune unbeknown to the pirates, her voice lingering in the distance.
The pirates did not interrupt her singing, instead, they listened with intense interest. What a surprise, this girl was not only exceptionally beautiful and agile, but her voice was also enchanting to the point it made one’s ears prick up. What type of celestial treasure was she?
Suddenly, their desire to capture her intensified even more!
“Such a treasure must belong to me,” mumbled the pirate leader to himself.
However, danger struck in an instant. No one had noticed any danger beforehand, until the calm sea suddenly waved, as if something was rapidly approaching them.
The pirates, having spent a long time on the sea, sensed something beneath the waves. Immediately, they all became alert.
Moreover, whatever it was, seemed to be getting closer, and closer…
The sensitive and vigilant pirates raised their guns, staring intensely at the seemingly calm but actually turbulent sea.
Someone queried, “Did you feel that? What is it?”
Everyone held their breath until Ye Xingguang’s high-pitched singing abruptly stopped. The pirates surrounding Ye Xingguang’s yacht were now completely encircled by a group of sharks swimming over from an unknown location.
“Damn it, it’s sharks!”
Unknown who, but someone first spotted the sharks emerging from the water.
Then came the successive cries of terror.
“We’ve been targeted by a school of sharks!”
Somebody tried to shoot, but was stopped by a companion.
“Don’t shoot! Be careful not to provoke the sharks.”
Someone surveyed the surroundings, counting. The number of sharks was more than their crew. Suddenly, everyone couldn’t help but break out in a cold sweat.
What rotten luck it was to encounter a school of sharks today.
Out of everybody, only Ye Xingguang – situated at the center of the encirclement – laughed lazily, “Now, whose life is hanging in the balance?”
“Damn! What does she mean? Did she summon these sharks?”
“Could it be… her singing just now!”
“Don’t tell us that these sharks came because you summoned them with your singing. Sharks listen to you? Girl, don’t talk nonsense. We won’t believe you!”
“Let’s give it a try then. If you don’t hand over the people and money today, see if you can leave here alive!” Ye Xingguang maintained a relaxed tone.
But this casualness made her, an enchanting beauty, appear like a pirate matriarch!
She was just too brazen!
“Brothers, don’t believe her. Whom is she trying to deceive? It just so happens we’ve encountered a school of sharks. It has nothing to do with her!”
But before the pirate could finish his sentence, Ye Xingguang began to sing again. This time, she sang a melody unbeknown to the pirates. Suddenly, all the sharks that had their eyes fixed on the pirates started to stir. They swarmed around the pirates’ speedboats, circling menacingly in the water.
The speedboat, with the pirate who just spoke, was suddenly attacked by several sharks.
