"You’re overthinking. I was there when Little Sister-in-law was rescued yesterday, so I’m more familiar with the situation. It’ll be clearer if I explain it."
"Can’t you just say what’s truly on your mind? Is it that hard to admit that you’re interested in me?"
"Miss Li, can we just eat properly?"
Li Manman lowered her eyes in resignation: "We can. Hurry up and eat. I’ve never seen a man like you; you’re truly unique."
"Then why are you still pursuing?" Feng Yi raised his brows with a smile and continued eating.
Li Manman was so frustrated by him she felt like spitting blood. She had to conquer this man, she must... just wait until she tortures him, tortures him to death.
After finishing their meal, a smiling restaurant staff member came over with a large bouquet of candy flowers: "Sir, Miss, today is our boss and his wife’s wedding anniversary, and every couple dining here will receive a bouquet of candy flowers."
"Sorry, we aren’t a couple." Feng Yi said, propping his hand on the table.
Li Manman took the flowers from the staff member’s hands, grinning as she explained: "We are a couple, we just had a little tiff. Don’t mind him, thanks for your boss’s flowers, I really like them."
The staff smiled more officially, slightly leaning forward: "Then I wish you both sweetness."
After the staff left, Li Manman looked at Feng Yi’s icy face and shrugged innocently: "Why refuse free stuff? Besides, I really love candy. Saying you’re my boyfriend doesn’t cost you anything, it’s not like you’ll lose a pound."
Feng Yi remained expressionless, but said nothing, as the two were about to leave and ran into colleagues.
This restaurant was close to the company and had nice dishes, so everyone liked eating here.
"President Lu, is this your girlfriend?"
A few of the company’s executives greeted with smiles, their eyes all on Li Manman.
Since they were executives, if they had been regular employees, they wouldn’t dare speak so casually to Feng Yi.
Feng Yi glanced at a female colleague’s candy flower, smirking: "Are you having an office romance or just here for free candy?"
Feng Yi’s implication was that he and Li Manman weren’t in a couple relationship.
No one present was foolish, of course, they understood what Feng Yi meant, awkwardly explaining: "Who wouldn’t take free stuff? The company doesn’t allow office romances. We wouldn’t break the rules."
"President Feng, we’ll head back then." With that, they quickly made their exit.
Li Manman rolled her eyes at Feng Yi in frustration, strutted out of the restaurant in high heels, with Feng Yi shaking his head and following behind.
Li Manman got in her car at the company entrance, rolled down the window and said to Feng Yi: "Well... thanks for having dinner with me today."
Though this guy didn’t admit to being in a relationship, he at least had dinner with her. Actually, Li Manman was quite happy.
Seeing Li Manman drive away, Feng Yi turned and entered the company.
Once home, Li Manman hurriedly sent Han Xi the photo they took on the road and the bouquet of candy flowers, along with a caption:
"I vow to capture this guy or I’ll never forgive myself."
