In the slightly cold night, the two embraced, and their silhouettes stretched under the lamplight.
Lu Jinghan released Han Xi’s lips, his forehead resting on hers, and his clear voice was filled with tenderness, "I’m sorry for worrying you."

"Don’t move around. Do you think teasing me will stop me from being angry?"
Her little scheme was uncovered. Han Xi obediently nestled against Lu Jinghan’s chest like a docile kitten, "Honey, I was just worried about you, afraid something would happen to you, so I came over. If it were me in danger, I believe you wouldn’t be able to rest in the hospital either."
This time, Lu Jinghan wasn’t easily placated by Han Xi’s few words. Seeing this girl injured because of him hurt more than if he were cut.
"Han Xi, you’re a doctor. Don’t you know you shouldn’t be out of bed? Your leg is bleeding and you’re still here running around. What if the wound gets infected? What if your leg becomes useless?"

In the car, Lu Jinghan turned on the heater, rotated the steering wheel, and sped away.
On the way, Lu Jinghan drove fast, constantly worried about that girl’s leg injury.
Han Xi leaned her head against the car seat, possibly due to the heater, or maybe she was too tired, slowly drifting off to sleep.
Lu Jinghan glanced sideways at Han Xi in the passenger seat, raised his hand to cover her with her clothes, his inky, abyss-like eyes filled with a deep, unwavering fondness.
Driving back to the hospital, it was already around two in the morning. After getting out of the car, Lu Jinghan opened the passenger door and gently lifted Han Xi into his arms.
Back in the ward, he found a doctor to check Han Xi’s leg injury, and while cleaning the wound, Han Xi groggily whimpered in pain.
Lu Jinghan sat by the bedside, holding Han Xi’s hand, feeling as if his heart was being pierced by a knife.
