Lu Jinghan just walked out of the bathroom, wrapped in a white towel, with traces of water still on his thick, short hair.
"Why not sleep a little longer?"
Han Xi raised her hand to tuck a few strands of loose hair behind her ear, lifted the comforter, and got out of bed: "I have to go to the hospital soon; if I sleep more, I’ll be late for work."
Lu Jinghan encircled Han Xi’s waist, the mild fragrance of shampoo wafting into Han Xi’s nose.
"I’ll help you request leave from the dean; you shouldn’t go today."
"No, I’ve taken too many days off recently. You’ll drive me there later."
Lu Jinghan nuzzled Han Xi’s hair, then loosened his arm from around her waist.
Han Xi took a warm shower in the bathroom, the rising steam lingering on her fair skin. Looking into the mirror at the marks left on her from the previous night, she blushed furiously.
After showering, she took clothes from the wardrobe and put them on. Only then did they both head downstairs together.
After breakfast, Lu Jinghan drove Han Xi to the hospital. Before she got out of the car, someone held onto Han Xi for another ten minutes of lingering affection before finally letting her go.
"Lu Jinghan, you’re such a pervert." Han Xi bit her lip and said before opening the car door to get out.
Lu Jinghan rubbed his thin lips with his thumb, indulgently watching Han Xi’s figure as it moved further away.
Han Xi had just walked out of the elevator when she saw Chen Zheng pacing back and forth at her office door.
"Chen Zheng, is there something you need from me?" Han Xi walked over while opening the door and asked.
Upon hearing the voice, Chen Zheng turned around, his eyes showing tension as he looked at Han Xi: "Are you okay? Any injuries?"
Han Xi smiled lightly and shook her head: "I’m fine, but you... I caused you to be knocked out that day."
Once inside the office, Han Xi put on a white coat: "By the way, tonight I’ll treat you and Manman to dinner to thank you for all your hard work recently."
"Alright, seeing you’re okay, I’m relieved. I’ll go back to work now."
Certainly, Chen Zheng had just left when the office door was pushed open again, and Li Manman came rushing in.
"Are you hurt? That Li Chenghao is simply a psycho; he dared to kidnap you. Next time I see him, I’ll kick him to death. A grown man who can’t let go — total freak."
Li Manman checked Han Xi thoroughly from head to toe, only sitting down in front of the couch after confirming she was uninjured.
Han Xi placed the stethoscope she was holding on the table, her eyebrows curved with laughter as she spoke: "How did you know I would come to work today?"
"Ever since you were kidnapped, I’ve been calling you continuously, but you were never reachable. I had no choice but to ask Lu Jinghan in the end."
"Alright, I’m fine. You should go back now. Tonight, we’ll dine with Chen Zheng, and I’ll send you the address later."
