"Yes, I’m going to be a mom too."
Han Xi leaned on Lu Jinghan’s shoulder, her smile as sweet as candied fruit.
When the two walked out of the elevator, Chu Ci had already gone to the ward. Fu Bin and Feng Yi were smoking by the window in the corridor.
Lu Jinghan accompanied Han Xi into the ward together. Li Manman had already woken up, and she weakly turned her head to look at Han Xi: "Chu Ci said you were feeling unwell, how did the check-up go?"
"I’m pregnant."
"Really? How long has it been?" Chu Ci smiled lightly and touched Han Xi’s flat belly.
"Just a month."
Han Xi sat down by the bedside, looking worriedly at Li Manman who was forcing a smile: "Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"
"I’m fine. The doctor just checked me and said I could go home."
Neither Chu Ci nor Han Xi mentioned anything about Feng Yi, as if nothing had happened.
Li Manman lifted the quilt and got out of bed, bending down to put on her shoes: "Xiao Xi, I want to stay at your previous villa for a while, I’m afraid my parents will start nagging me again if I go home."
"Alright, but it’s been a long time since someone lived there, it needs a bit of cleaning. How about I go with you?"
Han Xi wasn’t comfortable leaving this girl by herself, fearing she might faint again like before.
"Stop it, you just got pregnant, you can’t exhaust yourself. Don’t worry, I’m okay."
Chu Ci took the jacket off the sofa and helped Li Manman put it on: "Xiao Xi, you better not go. The first three months are quite unstable, you should stay by Lu Jinghan’s side, I’ll accompany Manman."
"I don’t need you to accompany me. With your big belly, I might end up taking care of you instead. You two really don’t need to worry, I’m not foolish enough to do anything rash."
"Alright then, but if anything comes up, you must call us."
"Got it."
Just as everyone walked out of the ward, Feng Yi and Fu Bin had finished smoking and returned. Li Manman glanced at Feng Yi but said nothing, turning and getting into the elevator.
Feng Yi followed everyone into the elevator. When they reached the underground parking lot, Feng Yi grabbed Li Manman’s hand: "Let me take you back."
"No need." Li Manman shook off Feng Yi’s hand and got into Lu Jinghan’s car.
Fu Bin patted Feng Yi’s shoulder: "Take it slow, don’t rush. She’s still upset right now, wait until she calms down a bit and then talk things over properly."
"I understand, you guys go ahead."
After watching everyone leave, Feng Yi leaned against the car door, took out a pack of cigarettes from his pants pocket, pulled one out, and lit it up.

After sending Li Manman to the villa, Lu Jinghan carried a big bag of daily necessities and food inside. Han Xi originally wanted to help the girl clean the house, but Lu Jinghan stopped her: "Why don’t you two sit in the living room for a while, I’ll handle the cleaning."
Lu Jinghan was worried about Han Xi getting tired, as the doctor advised him that being one month pregnant, the baby is still unstable, and they must be careful.
Li Manman took some fruits out from the bag on the dining table and went to wash them in the kitchen. Han Xi walked over, intending to put the seafood and vegetables away in the fridge, but as soon as she opened the bag she felt nauseous and rushed to the bathroom.
Lu Jinghan put down what he was holding and quickly followed her in: "Throwing up again?"
Han Xi hadn’t eaten anything at noon today, and now she was vomiting nothing but sour liquid.
"That seafood was really too fishy."
Han Xi straightened up, flushed the toilet, went to the sink, turned on the faucet, and splashed some warm water on her face.
