Chu Ci leaned on the table with one hand, teasing Li Manman with a smile: "Who was it that was making such a fuss about breaking up just a few days ago, and blinked now to get the marriage certificate? Are you guys serious?"
"Of course we’re serious, we have to be serious. Stop talking nonsense and hurry up and give me a red envelope."
Qin Mi put down the wine in her hand with a cheerful smile: "Sister Manman, is it okay if my brother and sister-in-law just give you one red envelope?"
"You little brat, why don’t you ever side with me? They’re not married yet, so it has to be two."
Han Xi was feeling a bit uncomfortable now, experiencing bouts of nausea.
Lu Jinghan picked up the glass of water from the table and handed it to Han Xi: "Drink some water first. If you’re not feeling well, we can head home."
Han Xi took the water and drank a few sips: "I’m okay; I’ll feel better after a while."
"Xiao Xi, if you’re not feeling well, you should go home and rest first."
Chu Ci turned her body and gently patted Han Xi’s back. She also experienced nausea a few times in her first three months of pregnancy and felt almost unbearably sick.
"I’ll go out for some fresh air; I’ll be fine soon."
"I’ll go with you." Lu Jinghan stood up from the chair, took Han Xi’s coat and helped her put it on, then hugged her as they walked outside.
"Xiao Xi, where are you going?" Li Manman looked at the two of them and asked.
"I’m feeling a bit sick, going out to get some air, and will be back soon."
Outside the private room, Lu Jinghan held Han Xi’s hand and stopped by the window at the end of the hallway, reaching out to open a crack in the window: "Is this too cold?"
Han Xi shook her head, leaning against Lu Jinghan’s chest: "Today, Grandpa and Dad called, and Aunt Shen said she would come over in a few days to take care of me."
"That sounds great. Having someone extra taking care of you makes me feel relieved too."
A woman who had just walked out of the elevator stared intently at their backs, her finely made-up face showing a complex expression.
Noticing someone watching them from behind, Lu Jinghan turned around and scrutinized the woman: "Is there something you want?"
The woman smiled gently, her gaze lingering on Han Xi for a few seconds before she stepped in high heels towards the private room.
Han Xi watched the woman’s departing back, feeling like she looked somewhat familiar, yet she didn’t actually know her.
After a while in the wind, Han Xi felt much better. When they returned to the private room, everyone was chatting lively and enthusiastically.
"Feeling better now?" Li Manman, slightly tipsy, looked at Han Xi and asked with concern.
"I’m perfectly fine now."
Lu Jinghan placed Han Xi’s coat onto the nearby sofa and sat at the dining table, serving her some lighter food: "You didn’t eat much earlier, try to eat a little more."
Han Xi, though no longer feeling like vomiting, still didn’t have much appetite, only managed to drink a bit of soup and couldn’t eat anything else.
The meal dragged on for almost two hours before they dispersed. After returning home, Lu Jinghan went to the kitchen to make Han Xi a bowl of noodles.
He carried the noodles back to the room, and Han Xi had just finished bathing and was coming out of the bathroom: "Come over and eat a bit first."
"I’m just starting to feel hungry."
Han Xi dried her dripping wet hair with a towel, walked barefoot to the bedside, and sat down.
Lu Jinghan frowned as he looked at the girl: "You just had a shower and came out barefoot; it’s easy to slip, don’t do this next time."
Han Xi obediently nodded: "Feed me."
Lu Jinghan picked up some noodles, blew them cool, and then brought them to Han Xi’s mouth: "Eat more. I even added an egg for you."
