Han Xi painfully lifted her hand to casually tie her hair up and went downstairs. She poured a glass of plain water in the dining room and drank a few sips, but her stomach still felt nauseous. She ran into the restroom beside the living room and leaned over the sink, dry heaving until she vomited all sour water.
Sister Zhang heard the noise from the kitchen and quickly came out. She frowned and gently patted Han Xi’s back, "Madam, I’ll wash some fruit for you later; your stomach is completely empty now."
"I’ll go lie down upstairs for a while. Sister Zhang, please bring the fruit to my bedroom later."
"Alright, Madam."
Han Xi lifted her hand to turn on the faucet, splashed some cool water on her face, feeling terribly uneasy, her expression turning pale.
Back in the bedroom, Han Xi weakly lay down on the bed and touched her flat belly with her hand, "Baby, please don’t torment Mommy anymore, it’s really hard to bear, I’m really feeling unwell."
Han Xi almost vomits four to five times every day, ending up with stomach acid.
Sister Zhang quickly brought up the fruit, "Madam, should I call Mister?"
"No, I’ll be fine after a little rest."
"Then I’ll leave now. If you need anything, Madam, just shout."
Han Xi nodded as she watched Sister Zhang leave, ate a few pieces of fruit, and then drifted off to sleep on the bed.

In the company’s reception room, Lu Jinghan sat with his legs crossed on the office chair, his dark eyes pausing for a few seconds on Zhong Li before looking at Gu Nanxi, "President Gu, I’ve seen your company’s sincerity. The contract has been sent to the legal department for review. If there are no issues, it can be signed later."
"I’m very happy to cooperate with Lu Group. Please look after us in the future."
Gu Nanxi’s sharp face held a faint smile, his clear voice containing a restrained aura.
Lu Jinghan unconsciously tapped his finger holding a cigarette on the table, his gaze landing on Zhong Li once again. Yesterday, this woman looked at Han Xi in a particularly unique, albeit familiar way in the restaurant.
"Miss Zhong, have we met before?"
"Didn’t we just meet in the restaurant corridor last night? President Lu, you truly tend to forget things."
Zhong Li closed the document in her hand with her lips crafted into a slight curve, emanating a high-cold aura perhaps due to her lip color.
Lu Jinghan raised his brows nonchalantly, leaned forward to flick ash into the ashtray, and the crimson spark flickered at his fingertips.
Gu Nanxi glanced at Zhong Li beside him, folded his hands resting on the table, "So President Lu met my assistant yesterday."
Lu Jinghan smiled silently, nodded, and the phone on the table suddenly rang. He picked up the phone, checked the caller ID on the screen, and pressed the answer button.
"Sir, Madam has been vomiting quite severely this afternoon. I just warmed up a cup of milk intending to bring it to her, only to hear her crying at the bedroom door."
"Have Doctor Liu come to check on Xiao Xi first. I’m heading back now."
After hanging up, Lu Jinghan stood worriedly from his chair, glanced hastily at Gu Nanxi, "I’m terribly sorry, I have an urgent matter at home to attend to. President Feng will sign the contract with you."
Zhong Li stood up with a complex gaze, "Is Mrs. Lu feeling unwell?"
"My wife is pregnant and experiencing severe morning sickness. Please excuse me."
