Aiden stayed with the old man for a little while, then got up to say goodbye.
Mia was still thinking about earlier events, exchanging a few sharp words with Lydia at the dining table, her mood sour. She quickly followed Aiden, walking ahead.
Bob lagged slightly behind.
He looked at her, then at Koa Jackson to his left front, feeling somewhat depressed.
At noon, he had observed for a while that the two of them hadn’t exchanged a single word, looking quite distant.
This gave him a bit of guilt.
Bob sped up, came alongside Koa Jackson, and whispered, "Brother Jackson?"
"Hmm?" Koa Jackson turned his head to glance at him, his expression was very indifferent.
"About the last incident," Bob was a bit nervous, awkwardly averting his gaze, and asked, "You didn’t tell my sister about the incident at the hospital last time, did you?"
Koa Jackson scrutinized him.
"I mean Mia," Bob glanced in Mia’s direction and said with pursed lips, "You didn’t tell her, right?"
"What do you think?" Koa Jackson sneered lightly at his expectant and anxious gaze, his voice softened, "No, I didn’t."
"That’s good." Bob suddenly felt relieved and continued to mutter, "Last time, I was muddle-headed. Brother Jackson, just forget about it. Those weren’t my real thoughts. Actually, my sister is not that bad. She’s really a good person."
"Hmm." Koa Jackson nodded, his emotions detached.
Whenever faced with him, Bob always felt pressured but remembered the main issue, mustering courage to ask again, "So the engagement, is it really... really off?"
"..." Koa Jackson was silent for a moment, "For now, that’s the case."
"You don’t have feelings for my sister?" Bob was unwilling to give up.
Both restless and anxious.
Having heard Charlotte and Zuri mention it many times, he naturally knew Koa Jackson was a distinguished figure.
There are many noblemen, but ones like him with outstanding family background, academic achievements, and character are exceedingly rare. Mia missing out on him, what a pity! It probably would be difficult to find someone surpassing him in excellence, right?

"No need." Mia said coldly, "I’m not a bargain product to be sent into someone’s arms after being discounted."
"Isn’t that exaggerated?" Bob was stung by her words, and said unhappily, "I didn’t say you were a bargain product! You originally had an engagement, so what’s the harm in asking? Brother Jackson’s conditions are so great, some pickiness is normal."
"So what?" Mia’s voice turned even colder, "It’s my fortune if he deems me worthy, right? You even have to cautiously probe?"
"I didn’t say anything!" Bob said frustratedly, furrowing his brows, "Why make us sound so humble!"
"Not humble?" Mia’s voice rose slightly and she froze after speaking.
It’s her despicable pride acting up.
It’s she who feels humble.
But what can be done?
Thinking of him, facing him, she always couldn’t help but feel humble.
