"Coming," Mia Ginger responded, lifting the quilt to get out of bed and opening the door.
She squinted up at the person.
"Go change your clothes," Koa Jackson looked down at her, "Didn’t I say? Starting this morning, you’ll join me for a morning jog."
Mia, still not fully awake, turned to glance out the window.
The sky was faintly lit.
It was summer, late July.
"I’ll give you ten minutes, I’ll wait at the door," Koa Jackson said, turning around, giving her a cool and straight white back view.
Mia was at a loss for words as she glanced at her phone.
She had only fallen asleep sometime after two last night!
But thinking about Koa Jackson’s expressionless face, she could only reluctantly start her morning routine.
She threw on the new sportswear she bought yesterday over her tank top, quickly washed her face, and swiftly tied her shoelaces with a toothbrush dangling from her mouth.
Not in the habit of wearing makeup, she finished her routine in less than ten minutes.
Punctually, she reached the door.
Her soft, messy short hair was still a feature.
Koa Jackson didn’t expect her to be so quick, a faint smile flashed in his eyes. He reached out to ruffle her hair and sighed, "So messy!"
"The more you ruffle, the messier it gets."
Mia mumbled in a drowsy complaint, still yawning.
"No need to run too fast, just keep pace with me," Koa Jackson said as he started jogging along the tree-lined path.
Mia resignedly followed.
Her figure was slender, and being sensitive, she usually didn’t like exercising, especially waking up so early after staying up late.
It was sheer torture.
Mia looked ahead at Koa Jackson with a face full of resignation.
He clearly had developed a habit; his steps were steady and consistent, and a closer look showed that each stride seemed to be about the same length.
Mia sped up to catch up with him, panting.
"Your physical fitness is worse than I thought," Koa Jackson glanced sideways at her and made a bland remark.
"Uncle Jackson, you’re destroying the nation’s flowers," Mia retorted, rolling her eyes at his serious jab.
"..." Koa Jackson was taken aback.
A hearty laugh came from the side.
Mia turned her head, seeing a familiar face close by.
A middle-aged man ran alongside Koa Jackson, matching his pace, and said with a laugh, "This young lady is meeting me for the first time today."
Koa Jackson glanced at Mia, "My distant niece."
The man looked at Mia with amusement, "Is the young lady even eighteen?"
Mia gave a dry laugh, "You look familiar to me."
"Justin Leaf," the man introduced himself.
Mia lowered her head, thinking for a moment, then hesitantly said, "From Ebay Web?"
"You can call me Uncle Leaf," Justin Leaf laughed heartily, not denying it.

As Mia’s jaw dropped, Koa Jackson and Justin Leaf had already left her far behind.
Koa Jackson was at least six foot one, and Justin Leaf, not quite as tall, looked about five foot ten; clearly both had habits of morning jogging.
Only a fool would think of catching up with them.
She was only five foot five...
Mia decided to slow her pace, enjoying the morning breeze as she leisurely jogged along, admiring the roadside scenery.
