"You fought like a rooster yesterday, and now you’re pretending to be an ostrich?"
"..." Mia Ginger was momentarily speechless.
"You can stay as long as you want," Koa Jackson tightened his grip and said leisurely, "I understand you feel aggrieved. Everything that originally belonged to you now requires effort to reclaim, and that would be difficult for anyone to accept calmly."
"But Mia," Koa’s tone paused slightly, "look forward, okay?"
Mia leaned on his shoulder and answered sullenly.
Koa was stunned for quite a while before he realized this girl was implying he was nagging, and he almost let go of her.
In the end, he held back.
Was too lazy to say anything else.
Walked home carrying her.
Lilian Jackson had just gotten out of the car and looked up to see the two approaching.
She knew Koa had a habit of morning runs, and that’s why she and Ridge Peterson came over early, but either way, she didn’t expect this scene.
In just one day, they’ve gotten this close!
She suppressed the many emotions rising inside and warmly greeted them as they approached, "Good morning."
"Morning." Koa put Mia down.
"Good morning, Sister Lilian." Mia squinted and smiled.
She had already learned Lilian’s identity from Aiden Jiang, and naturally could guess Lilian’s thoughts, yet she was not afraid at all.
Noticed Koa changed his watch, which meant he had no feelings for Lilian.
Maybe not much for herself either.
But at least she had the engagement.
Mia’s smile was innocent.
Lilian’s smile became a bit stiff, but fortunately, Gideon Jackson had just parked and came over, starting a conversation with Koa.
Mia went back to her room for a shower.
Changed clothes and ate breakfast.
She wore a black tank top with a thin white shirt over it, black shorts below, slippers on her feet, and with half-dry short hair, she went to the dining room.
She looked very casual.
Sat directly to Koa’s right side.
Lilian’s expression changed again.
Koa customarily wore white shirts and black long pants at home, and Mia sitting next to him made them look like they were wearing couple outfits, really matching.
Made her extremely uncomfortable.
Mia couldn’t be bothered by her, lowered her head and leisurely munched on a piece of bread.
Aunt Lee placed a cup of fresh milk beside her hand.
Mia furrowed her delicate eyebrows, glanced at Koa, and after a while, muttered something quietly.
Koa noticed and put down the coffee cup in his hand, looking at her, "Speak properly."
"Can’t we drink juice?"
Mia held the milk with both hands, hesitant, "How about juice in the morning, milk at night, or milk on Saturdays and juice on Sundays, how does that sound?"
"Doesn’t sound great," Koa was amused by her troubled expression.
Mia sighed helplessly.
"Not speaking anymore?" Koa looked at her seriously, "Your sleep isn’t good, drinking more milk is beneficial and harmless."
Sleepwalking or whatever, really a bad excuse.
She took a sip of milk, depressedly promised, "I won’t go to your room to sleep in the future."
"Is your promise worth anything?" Koa glanced at her, saying leisurely, "Just don’t go to bed barefoot."
Mia was momentarily speechless.
That remark felt quite ambiguous.
