The surgery continued till midnight. The doctor wheeled out Feng Xi, reassuring everyone she was fine.
Ye Ranran almost collapsed into Jun Mochan’s arms, her legs weakening.
"It’s fine, she’s okay." Jun Mochan comforted her, patting her on the back.
Ye Ranran gripped Jun Mochan’s clothes, "I’m so tired, can you hold me?"
Jun Mochan scooped her up into his arms. "Ah Chuan, stay here and look after her. If anything happens, you’ll be responsible."
"Yes, Mr. President."
After leaving him all alone to keep vigil, while they went home to sleep, Ah Chuan grumbled unhappily.
Once home, Ye Ranran regained her consciousness after taking a bath.
She sat beside Jun Mochan and asked, "What will the media say about this incident? Will it affect J.C.’s share prices? Will it bring you any negative attention?"
Listening to her chain of questions, Jun Mochan smiled and pulled her closer, "It’s already four in the morning, go to sleep. Whatever I promised you during the day can wait until tomorrow."
"I’m being serious here," Ye Ranran pushed him away slightly.
How could he still think about those things at a time ?
"I’m being serious too. What do you say about us having a baby?" he whispered softly in her ear with an alluring voice that was hard to resist.
Ye Ranran resisted him and his continuous advances, "I’m discussing Feng Xi with you, stop changing the topic. You know very well she did it to threaten you."
Look who’s being intelligent now, Jun Mochan thought, patting her on the head, his face adorned with an enchanting smile. "Is Mrs. Jun worried about me?"
"Of course I am, we’re married. If you go bankrupt, won’t I have to become a vagabond with you?" Ye Ranran averted her eyes from his irresistible smile.
This woman, clearly worried about him, but disguising it so craftily.
"Don’t worry, your husband can handle this."
"But Xie Yuan and his gang are closely watching us. They’ll definitely blow things out of proportion, making it uncontrollable." Ye Ranran furrowed her brows.
Jun Mochan smoothed out the creases on her forehead, "Why? Don’t you trust your husband?"
Ye Ranran shook her head, "No, that’s not it. I’m just worried."
"It’s alright, there’s nothing to worry about. If Mrs. Jun has so much energy, why don’t we do something else?" As Ye Ranran opened her mouth to speak once again, Jun Mochan pulled her into a kiss.
Ye Ranran spent the night tossed and turned by Jun Mochan, only getting a reprieve when dawn broke.
When Ye Ranran woke up, it was already afternoon.
Where was Jun Mochan?
"He must’ve done it on purpose." Ye Ranran ran her hands through her disarrayed hair.
Not wanting to let her frustration brew, she got up, got ready, and standing in front of the mirror saw the mark on her neck, regret flashing through her eyes.
She picked up a collared shirt and capri pants and headed downstairs.
"Yes, I need to go out." said Ye Ranran as she walked towards the door.
"Madam, the master said you should eat before leaving." The housekeeper Wu Mama stopped her.
Ye Ranran was just about to refuse, but foreseeing her reaction, Wu Mama continued, "The master said that you must finish your meal before leaving, or else..."
This man, always threatening her.
"Fine, I’ll eat." Ye Ranran sat at the table in protest.
Midway through her meal, her phone rang. Upon seeing the caller ID, Ye Ranran hung up without hesitation.
