"Young Master Jun, enjoy your meal. I’ll not disturb you further." Xie Pei took this opportunity to make his exit.
Jun Mochan glanced at him but didn’t say anything, instead, he turned his attention to the two men behind him.
"Young Master Jun." Seeing Jun Mochan looking over, the two men hurriedly spoke up.
They had intended to greet Jun Mochan as soon as they saw him, but he hadn’t glanced their way, leaving them unsure whether to approach or retreat.
"The Finance Director, the Tax Director, unless I’m mistaken, tomorrow is tax day, isn’t it? Meeting corporate representatives at such a sensitive time might not be the best idea," said Jun Mochan in a light tone, yet not without implied seriousness.
"Indeed, Young Master Jun," the two directors wiped the cold sweat off their foreheads.
Xie Pei had invited them, hoping for some backdoor deals and support from the financial and tax departments, they had been considering it too. But as soon as Jun Mochan dropped this comment, they immediately backed off.
"Chen Group has been doing quite well recently. A City is currently focusing on developing its unique attributes, isn’t it? Being a well-established local business, wouldn’t Chen Group have more authentic taste compared to Xie’s?" Jun Mochan said it casually, pretending not to care.
"Are you implying that our Xie’s can’t compare with Chen’s?" Xie Pei wasn’t pleased.
"Indeed, when it comes to creating dishes with uniqueness, definitely so. At least, if I want to have authentic A City cuisine, I would choose Chen’s over Xie’s," Jun Mochan admitted candidly.
Xie Pei was so annoyed that he was seething with rage. Just as he was about to retort, the two individuals behind him rushed to concur.
Xie Pei was suddenly frantic, quickly escorting them away from Jun Mochan, in fear that if he was too slow, they would completely side with Jun Mochan.
"Do you know Chen’s?" After a few individuals left, Ye Ranran asked?
Jun Mochan placed a portion of food into Ye Ranran’s bowl with his chopsticks: "Eat up quick. The food will lose its taste once it cools down."
Ye Ranran didn’t ask further, proceeding to finish everything in her bowl quickly.
At last, she wiped her mouth and asked, "You haven’t answered me yet."
"Hungry? Eat a little more." He scooped up another portion for her.
Ye Ranran displayed mild annoyance: "Jun Mochan!"
Jun Mochan squinted his eyes: "What did you call me?"
"Husband." In face of the formidable Jun Mochan, Ye Ranran did not dare to be disrespectful.
"You called it wrong once," Jun Mochan declared.
Ye Ranran didn’t care much: "Alright, if you won’t say it, then so be it."
Seeing her clearly interested, yet feigning not wanting to know, Jun Mochan found it somewhat amusing: "If you want to know, then eat first. I’ll tell you when you’re done."
"Who wants to know? He’s not related to me whatsoever," Ye Ranran muttered, her hands moving swiftly to pick up the food.
As a young lady from a rich family, Ye Ranran exhibited all the poise one would expect.
She ate elegantly, not speaking while eating. The lunch soon finished.
"Can you tell me now?" Seeing Jun Mochan put down his chopsticks, Ye Ranran inquired.
Jun Mochan’s face softened with a warm smile: "Didn’t you say you’re not keen to know?"
Ye Ranran: "..." Was he intentionally messing with her?
Seeing Ye Ranran on the threshold of throwing a tantrum, Jun Mochan swiftly put away his playfulness: "We’ve met a few times, the young master of Chen’s is not bad. Instead of benefiting Xie Yuan, I would rather lend him a hand."
"Anyone who has you speaking in their praise must be quite remarkable." Ye Ranran became slightly curious about the young master of Chen’s.
Seemingly seeing through her thoughts, Jun Mochan’s smile carried a hint of hidden meaning, "So, isn’t the person I have designs upon even more so? Madam, it sounds like you’re indirectly praising yourself."
