"Are you implying that I haven’t done enough to make you feel happy, Madam?" Jun Mochan walked towards her.
His tall figure overshadowed her. Ye Ranran didn’t dodge him, she boldly walked up to him, wrapping her arms around his waist, "No, quite the opposite, I feel very happy."
He treated all the other women indifferently, it was only with her that he was different. The sheer difference in his demeanor towards her compared to others gave her an uncanny feeling.
"That’s only natural, you’re my wife. I should only treat you nicely, and I will for the rest of our lives," Jun Mochan whispered this promise into her ear.
His words were like a net that she willingly fell into, he was an enchantingly charming man.
She thought that no one could resist his onslaught, right?
As Ye Ranran and Jun Mochan were exchanging sweet nothings, Su Yu dashed out of the J.C and drove wildly on the roads, Jun Mochan’s ruthless words echoing in her ears.
The glimmer of the ring on his hand flashed before her eyes from time to time.
She pressed harder and harder on the accelerator. Cars whooshed past her as she ran one red light after another.
The other cars knew better than to challenge her frenzied driving and gave way.
Just when a car accident seemed imminent, a siren wailed. Three police cars blocked Su Yu’s path, completely trapping her.
This harsh sound brought back some of Su Yu’s sanity. She stopped her car in front of the police vehicle.
After getting scolded, penalized and fined, she was let go.
Following the dressing-down from the police, Su Yu’s mind cleared up and rationality returned. She took out her phone and made a phone call.
"Where are you now? I’d like to meet you," Su Yu said.
"Okay, let’s meet at the coffee shop", after the person probably agreed, Su Yu spoke.
Wang Ya looked at Gao Han: "Mr. President, are you going out? What about these documents..."
"Leave them here for now, I’ll deal with them when I’m back," Gao Han picked up his jacket and strode out.
Watching his retreating figure, Wang Ya was in deep thought. Once he had left the office, she texted Jun Mochan.
Apparently, Jun Mochan had asked her to keep a close eye on Gao Han and notify him of any abnormality.
When Gao Han arrived, Su Yu was already at the coffee shop. He checked his surroundings and made sure nothing was amiss before he took a seat.
"You contacting me at this time, aren’t you afraid he’ll find out?" Gao Han asked.
"Don’t worry, he won’t suspect me that easily. But thanks for the reminder, from now on, we should not meet. If something comes up, I will have someone to contact you," Su Yu stirred her coffee.
"Get to the point. You didn’t ask me out to chit-chat, did you?" Gao Han questioned.
"I just wanted to ask when you think you’ll get Ye Ranran?"
"We just started, why are you in such a hurry?" Gao Han gave her a perplexed look.
"You’d better hurry, if you’re too slow, I’m so annoyed with her that I might not be able to resist taking action," thinking about Ye Ranran’s peaceful face, a flash of jealousy passed through Su Yu’s eyes.
Gao Han’s calm face immediately darkened: "I advise you to behave. If anything happens to her, I won’t let you off."
"What’s so good about her? Why are you all so captivated by her?" Su Yu asked, completely baffled.
Was Ye Ranran really that good? Good enough that they all think she’s irreplaceable?
"You don’t need to know that. You just need to know that she’s not someone you can touch," Gao Han stood up.
