Ye Ranran walked up to Jun Mochan, who didn’t look at her but continued his conversation with the producer.
They were discussing things like finalizing all production matters, advertising, and handling the shopping mall affairs.
From their fragmented conversations, Ye Ranran figured out that Jun Mochan was probably planning to use this film for advertising.
It made sense. This was a major production with a large budget. It is already gaining popularity even before its broadcast. When it is released, adding a title sponsorship would fan the flames of publicity.
It would be hard for it not to be a hit.
Jun Mochan had a brilliant business mind. But who was the undercover boss of Huacan? And why had they not shown up for so long? A key question popped into Ye Ranran’s mind.
Seeing her deep in thought, Jun Mochan naturally assumed that she was thinking about him. Wondering why he had summoned her, wondering if he was upset with her!
It seemed she was quite self-aware. Just as Jun Mochan was about to speak, Luo Qi called from afar, "Ranran, come over here."
"Oh, I’ll be right there," Ye Ranran responded subconsciously.
Immediately, Jun Mochan’s face darkened, "Wait, have I allowed you to leave?"
"I must get back to work, honey," Ye Ranran replied in a sweet, sassy tone.
Jun Mochan didn’t say anything, but his face softened at her endearing address.
Everyone around was dumbfounded. They were aware of Jun Mochan’s affection for Ye Ranran.
Though Ye Ranran had never reciprocated directly, through the grapevine, everyone knew that they were passionately in love.
But it appeared that things might be more serious than even they realized. No one really knew for sure.
But what was happening now? Was Jun Mochan planning to marry Ye Ranran? Was this more than just a fling?
Suddenly, everyone’s eyes changed when they looked at Ye Ranran.
Ye Ranran was completely oblivious to the ripples her innocent comment had caused in everyone’s hearts.
Ye Ranran approached Luo Qi and asked, "What happened? Is everything okay?"
"Take a look at this outfit. There seems to be a small hole, as if a bug had bitten through it." Luo Qi frowned.
Ye Ranran looked closely at the small hole and said, "It looks like you didn’t store it properly, and a rat nibbled at it. Bring me a thread of similar color; I’ll mend it."
Having trained as a fashion designer, Ye Ranran had learned to mend clothes before she learned to design, so her skills were quite competent.
Soon, Ye Ranran had fixed the damage. Luo Qi inspected the garment from all angles and couldn’t spot the previous tear.
"Ranran, you are so skilled that even if you lose your job one day, you could set up a mending stall and make a living," Luo Qi exclaimed.
"What a funny thing this girl says. In this day and age, who wears tattered clothes?" Su Yu teased from behind them.
"However, you never know with poor folks. I hear sometimes they have to wear other people’s discarded clothes." Su Yu’s sarcastic comment was laced with snobbish undertone.
Ye Ranran and Luo Qi turned around simultaneously.
Looking at Su Yu, with a thick layer of powder on her face, Luo Qi naively asked, "Excuse me, madam, who are you? You are dressed quite prettily, but why is your mouth so foul? When was the last time you brushed your teeth?"
Furious, Su Yu sputtered, "Who are you calling a madam?"
"Whoever answers, is the one being addressed, madam." Luo Qi emphasized the last word.
Unable to lash out openly as everyone was around, Su Yu shifted her anger onto Ye Ranran. "Birds of a feather flock together. One can tell what kind of person you are by the company you keep."
These words made Luo Qi upset, "What kind of person I am? Tell me when have I ever misbehaved?"
Ye Ranran held her back, "Let it go, say no more."
