Luo Qi ran after her.
Xie Yuan was about to pursue, but Su Yu stepped in front of him: "Hold on."
"Does Director Su have any instructions?" Xie Yuan raised his eyebrows, his face looking even more wicked.
"If something happens to her here now, I won’t get away with it either. Jun Mochan won’t let us off the hook then." Su Yu gave him a reproaching look.
"Do you think I’m afraid of him?" Xie Yuan dismissively said.
"As far as I know, Jun Mochan has powerful backers. Even if your Xie Family rules A City, what then? If you really infuriate him, your Xie Family would be doomed."
Has he not suffered enough underhanded losses all this while?
"Since Ye Ranran is his weak point, why not strike at her." Su Yu smiled sinisterly.
"Unfortunately, we’ve let her slip away again. Next time, she might not be as lucky." Xie Yuan broke into a grin, engrossed in some thought.
"I would advise you to worry about yourself first. Do you think Jun Mochan has been idle recently? Perhaps when you wake up tomorrow, the company will no longer belong to you." Su Yu warned.
Xie Yuan looked entirely indifferent: "We’ll prepare for the war when the soldiers arrive, and fend off the water when the flood comes. What’s there to fear?"
"Suit yourself." He had said all that needed to be said. Whether Xie Yuan listens or not was his problem.
After leaving the hotel and getting into the car, Ye Ranran and Luo Qi heaved a sigh of relief.
"That was terrifying." Luo Qi said, pounding her chest.
"Where do you live? I’ll take you home first." Ye Ranran said calmly.
Luo Qi recited an address, her brows knotted in worry: "Do you think I should start looking for a new place tomorrow?"
"I’ve recently taken back my old house. It’s currently hiring, so if your mother is willing, you can live there, food and lodging provided. I don’t live there regularly, but you and your brother can stay. I just dislike mess, so you’ll need to help keep the place clean." Ye Ranran said, a faint smile on her face.
"Really?" Luo Qi grasped her hands tightly.
"It’s my house, why not?" The old house had been transferred to her name long ago, and she was the one managing it.
Jun Mochan definitely would not interfere in any way.
That man really did give her enough respect.
"Won’t I be troubling you too much?" Luo Qi looked a bit embarrassed.
"We’re friends. There’s no need for such calculations." Every time she was in trouble, Luo Qi would stand in front of her. She had always remembered this kindness.
Luo Qi clutched her hand tightly, her eyes welling up with tears: "Ranran, thank you. If it weren’t for you..."
"Wait till everything is done before thanking me."
Luo Qi nodded: "Yes, as soon as I get the video tomorrow, I’ll break up with him."
She had made up her mind, even if she couldn’t get a single penny out of it, she would still break up with him!
"Yes, don’t worry too much, I’ve got your back." Ye Ranran comforted her.
Luo Qi hugged her tightly, resting her head on Ye Ranran’s shoulder. Soon, Ye Ranran’s shoulder was wet.
She gently patted Luo Qi’s back, silently consoling her.
After sending Luo Qi home, Ye Ranran looked at the city’s neon lights, a thought suddenly crossed her mind...
"Husband, I want to go for a drive. Will you come with me?" Ye Ranran took out her phone and dialed Jun Mochan’s number.
Jun Mochan was in his study dealing with documents, his face stern and constantly glancing at his wristwatch every minute.
When the minute hand pointed to nine, and there was still no noise from outside the door, Jun Mochan’s face darkened even further.
