"Yes, I just came to inform you."
It didn’t upset Ye Ranran. Now that she knew his status, she was no longer worried. "I’ll get things sorted then."
By saying she was going to sort things out, what she was really doing was just issuing orders while the maid did all the work.
It didn’t take long for Ye Ranran to get everything packed up.
She nonchalantly picked up a glass of water from the table to drink from, only realizing it was ice water once it reached her lips.
A chilling sensation made Ye Ranran involuntarily furrow her brow, but it soon relaxed.
She was relieved her period had not arrived, otherwise, drinking a full glass of ice water would have been agonizing.
When Jun Mochan stepped out of the bath, he noticed Ye Ranran standing there in a daze. He furrowed his brows and walked over to her.
"What are you thinking about?"
"Nothing, just having some water." Ye Ranran set down the glass in her hand.
Jun Mochan glanced at the glass, not thinking much about it. He picked up the towel hanging around his neck to help dry Ye Ranran’s still-wet hair, "Your hair isn’t dry. Don’t you know how to use a hair dryer?"
His arm accidentally brushed against Ye Ranran’s, and the chilling cold on her unsettled him.
"What did you drink? Your hands are freezing," Jun Mochan finally noticed something was amiss.
"Just water. However, I have no idea who left a glass of ice water here." A frown crossed Ye Ranran’s face.
She had a cold constitution and during the winter, her whole body felt like a block of ice without any warmth to it.
This made it hard for her to conceive.
Drinking another glass of ice water was just adding insult to injury.
"Are you a fool? Do you drink without even looking?" Jun Mochan scolded.
Ye Ranran had never seen him get this angry before, she looked at him, a little taken aback, "This is our home."
He had kicked out all the unrelated people. It was just the two of them. Did she still need to be on guard?
"Let’s go, I’ll take you for a check-up." Jun Mochan pulled her towards the door.
"It’s late, what kind of check-up? I’m fine. If you’re worried, why don’t we have the family doctor come over?" Ye Ranran resisted.
"The family doctor has taken leave. Behave, let’s go to the hospital for a check-up. Otherwise, I’ll worry." Jun Mochan softened his tone.
"You were scary just now. It’s almost half past eleven. Can we go tomorrow?" Ye Ranran cautiously asked him.
"No. We must go now. Immediately." Jun Mochan disregarded her protests, lifted her up, and carried her off.
"I’m still in my pajamas... let me change first..."
Ignoring Ye Ranran’s protests, Jun Mochan directly placed her in the car.
What he didn’t expect was that there were traffic police on patrol so late in the night.
"Coming out in your pajamas, did you drink? Are you not thinking straight?" The traffic officer chided.
Jun Mochan wasn’t in the mood for a lecture. Before the officer could say another word, he stepped on the gas.
The Land Rover sped off at 225 kilometers per hour.
Ye Ranran let out a cry of surprise, clutching her seatbelt tightly.
"Damn it, are you trying to get killed? Speeding right in front of me? Chase him!" The officer hopped onto his motorcycle, immediately giving chase.
His companions quickly followed suit.
And so, in the middle of the night, a chase of epic proportions unfolded, with a fleet of patrol cars tailing the Land Rover.
Ye Ranran was initially terrified but soon calmed down. Firstly, because she trusted Jun Mochan would never put her in danger.
Secondly, even if there was danger, she wouldn’t mind dying with him.
With these thoughts in mind, she found herself calm enough to look behind her.
"Honey, with all those police officers behind us, are you sure we’re okay?" Ye Ranran sounded a tad worried.
She had no idea how large a fine they’d have to pay.
