As they stepped out, they saw that Che Hao was still waiting outside. Luo Qi’s gaze wandered between him and Ye Ranran before she spoke, "He sure seems to have a soft spot for you."
Ye Ranran shot her a look: "Don’t talk nonsense, we’re just normal friends—we occasionally just take advantage of each other."
Ye Ranran never resisted making new friends, especially someone like Che Hao, who had a prominent place in the entertainment industry.
He had heaps of connections, which could be handy in bringing her some business in the future.
"Heartthrob, you haven’t left yet? Are you waiting for Ranran?" Luo Qi hustled over to Che Hao.
Che Hao nodded lightly, a perfect curve forming at the corner of his mouth: "I’m also waiting for you."
"I’m just an afterthought," Luo Qi pouted.
Che Hao just smiled, not sure if he found the question childish, or he just agreed with her.
All the others from the cast had left, leaving the scenic area deserted. With the overlapping trees and the chilly wind, the place seemed even more eerie.
Ye Ranran looked around, saying, "Alright, let’s leave quickly."
Che Hao’s two assistants trailed them from a distance as he, Luo Qi, and Ye Ranran walked side by side.
Luo Qi stood between them, maintaining a posture that was neither too close nor too distant from both.
Suddenly, Ye Ranran stopped. She took a step back, positioning herself behind Che Hao and Luo Qi.
"What’s up?" Luo Qi turned around, looking at her curiously.
Ye Ranran motioned for her to be quiet.
Five minutes later, when the individuals up front had gone, Ye Ranran emerged from behind the two. Her face seemed a bit odd.
"Do you know that person?" Che Hao looked at the hotel entrance, and then at Ye Ranran.
Ye Ranran’s eyes were icy cold: "Che Hao, can you do me a favor?"
Ye Ranran studied his perfect face: "Go to the front desk and ask if there’s someone named Chu Ji staying at the hotel."
"Is he your lover or your illicit lover?" Che Hao asked half seriously, half jokingly.
Ye Ranran gave him a sideways glare: "Neither, are you going or not?"
"Of course, I’m going. But remember, you owe me one." Che Hao had an expression that said ’Remember, I’ll get my due sooner or later.’
Ye Ranran offered a brief smile: "Enough talking, hurry."
Inside the hotel, Ye Ranran and Luo Qi stood on one side with Che Hao’s assistant blocking them from view.
Two minutes later, Che Hao returned with a certain answer for Ye Ranran.
"It really is him. What could he be doing here?" Ye Ranran’s eyes glinted with curiosity.
Her intuition told her there was something interesting afoot.
"Which room is he in?"
Ye Ranran immediately produced her room card, a radiant smile on her face, and told the front desk, "Excuse me, I’d like to change my room."
It wasn’t the tourist season, and besides the cast, there were hardly any customers in the hotel, so Ye Ranran easily managed to switch rooms.
"Ranran, why don’t I stay with you?" Luo Qi looked a bit concerned.
Although Che Hao didn’t speak, his furrowed brow revealed his concern.
"No need, both of you should get some sleep. Good night." Ye Ranran waved at them before exiting the elevator.
Once in her room, Ye Ranran took out her phone and hurried into the bathroom to call Jun Mochan.
"Honey, I ran into Chu Ji here. What do you think he’s doing here?"
