What about One? She isn’t scared of others’ gossip? She doesn’t care if others see?
"What business is it of yours?" Ye Ranran snorted coldly. "What are you to me? What gives you the right to boss me around here?"
"As long as you’re part of the Huo Family, it’s my business. I don’t want to be the subject of others’ gossip!"
Though she should have been indignant and angry, Ye Ranran oddly calmed down. She supported herself on a chair, standing up slowly and walked toward Huo Yi.

"Madam!" One hurried over to support her.
The smile vanished from Ye Ranran’s lips, replaced with sternness; "You’re right, eldest brother. Today was my oversight; it was all my fault. I’ve let down the Huo Family, embarrassed them. I’m a flirt who’s unashamed of making advances on multiple men, I’m unworthy of being a daughter-in-law of the Huo Family!"
One clenched his fist, rage surging through him. If not for the fact that the man before him was Jun Mochan’s elder brother, he would have struck him by now.
"Rest assured, eldest brother, I know my place. In a few days, I will move out, and I won’t parade myself as a daughter-in-law of the Huo Family anymore!"
"Ranran, I didn’t mean..."
Huo Yi started to explain, but Ye Ranran slowly turned around and walked in, calling to One.
"Sir, please leave!" One commanded, radiating a threatening aura, blocking Huo Yi’s path.
"Get out of the way!" Huo Yi tried to nudge One aside.
Huo Yi wasn’t easy to deal with, but neither was One. From the moment he insulted Ye Ranran, One had been itching to throw a punch.
One swung his fist, aiming a ruthless punch towards Huo Yi.
Huo Yi immediately retaliated; "On what authority are you hitting me?"
"One, don’t fight." Almost immediately after hearing the commotion, Ye Ranran tried to intervene, but it was too late.
"Madam, he spoke so ill of you!" One was visibly upset.
It’s not as if he killed him, what’s there to fear about throwing a few punches?
"Even if you hit him, he won’t change his opinion of me, and it will only cause more trouble!"
No matter what kind of verbal confrontation, Ye Ranran was unafraid, she wasn’t averse to violence, but it should not be used against Huo Yi at this moment.
Because she still needed the help of Huo Yi’s mother!
Reluctantly, One withdrew his fist; "No matter what you think, Madam and I are innocent. You can insult me, but don’t dare say a word about her, or else..."
Out of Ye Ranran’s sight, he would kill him!
"Defending her ? Still claiming there’s nothing going on?"
"Enough!" Ye Ranran’s eyes turned frosty. "One was merely helping me understand the political landscape, was that wrong?"
"I don’t think I’ve done anything out of line. He’s my partner, my family. What’s wrong if we’re close? What else is in your head besides that filth?"
Ye Ranran didn’t care what Huo Yi thought of her, but she cared about the people around her.
He could criticize her all he wants! As for One, no way!
Ye Ranran lifted her head slightly, looking at Huo Yi arrogantly; "If you really think there’s something between us, it’s because I seduced him. I’m the shameless one, please don’t involve him!"
That’s Ye Ranran, fiercely protective of those she cares about, and disdainful of those she doesn’t.
He once mattered to her the most, but now she cast him aside!
"One, show him out. We’ll continue our sweet nothings!" She enunciated heavily on the last four words.
"Please leave!" One drove Huo Yi out, slamming and locking the door behind him.
