"Alright, let’s proceed!" said Ye Ranran.
One was staring intensely at her face, as if trying to bore a hole right through it.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Ye Ranran raised her hand and touched her own face, there was no blush.
Not fully trusting her own sense of touch, she even checked herself in the mirror.
One laughed amusedly at her actions.
Ye Ranran gave him a glare, feeling puzzled, "What’s so funny? You know, that could easily lead to misunderstandings."
"All the things said earlier, didn’t they bother you at all?" Didn’t she feel sad at all?
"I was upset at first, but then I got used to it. Besides, this is just the beginning, even worse things are yet to come!"
When she embarked on this path, she was bound to face unrest, especially since she was parachuted in.
"Accusations like ’she’s good in bed,’ ’she only knows how to seduce men,’ ’she attracts people with her beauty,’ I’ve heard them to the point of nausea." Ye Ranran shrugged her shoulders, speaking dismissively.
"Alright, let’s hurry up and get started, or we’ll be too late!" Ye Ranran looked at the time on her computer.
"It’s already nine o’clock, why don’t you rest first?"
"No, I’ll read for another hour. I’m used to sleeping at midnight, and if I go to bed earlier, I won’t be able to fall asleep."
Upon Ye Ranran’s insistence, One could only give in.
It was only after ten o’clock that Ye Ranran finally let One leave.
After having a maid help her with bathing and washing her hair, Ye Ranran sat on her bed, using her free hand to gently squeeze her leg.
Feeling tired, Ye Ranran finally lay down, slowly recalling the pictures she had seen today.
Before she could finish recalling, she fell asleep.
Huo Yi climbed in from the room next door. He stood beside Ye Ranran’s bed, eyes filled with undisguised desire.
Yes, he wanted her, badly.
Why not take advantage now? After all, she can’t resist. Even when his brother comes back, things won’t return to how they were.
Huo Yi devilishly lowered his head.
Just as his lips were about to touch Ye Ranran’s face, a bullet whizzed silently through his shoulder.
In pain, Huo Xi clutched his shoulder and looked out the window.
One, dressed in black, was standing on the windowsill. Seeing Huo Yi looking over, he even grinned at him.
His lips moved, silently saying to Huo Yi,
"Touch her, and die!"
Huo Yi understood One’s lip reading.
At home, Huo Yi didn’t have the habit of carrying a gun, but he would not admit defeat this easily.
"What’s the honor in a surprise attack? How about a fair match?"
"No match." He just wanted to protect her, not compete against him.
"Your mother is already at the front door. If you don’t want to be misunderstood, I suggest you leave quickly."
Huo Yi smirked, "Misunderstanding? I love misunderstandings, especially with him."
Huo Yi’s shamelessness provoked One to shoot him again. One aimed accurately, but Huo Yi could have completely dodged this shot.
However, he didn’t. Instead, he slightly moved to avoid the vital spot and once again took the shot from One.
One was momentarily taken aback, then devilishly grinned, and aimed his gun at Huo Yi’s forehead.
If he was so eager to die, he’d oblige him!
However, Huo Yi seemed to lose his balance, and fell directly onto Ye Ranran.
Ye Ranran was awakened abruptly by the pain.
That was Ye Ranran’s first feeling.
Feeling heavyweight, like being pinned down by a rock.
That was Ye Ranran’s second feeling.
She thought it was her illusion, but when the fog in her eyes cleared and she adapted to the darkness, she realized it wasn’t her illusion.
