"Let’s go home." Jun Mochan lifts her up.
The weight in his arms makes him frown again, right when he has just relaxed.
She’s so light. Much lighter than before.
"Grandpa’s still there." Ye Ranran says reluctantly.
But she doesn’t want to leave the embrace she has been longing for, so she simply buries her head in Jun Mochan’s chest.
Jun Mochan takes her further inside.
Seeing Jun Mochan, Jun’s old wet eyes keep nodding, he repeatedly murmurs, "It’s good to be back, good to be back."
"Grandpa, I have something to do. I need to take Ranran home first." Jun Mochan says.
"Go ahead." Grandpa Jun doesn’t stop him.
Jun Mochan, knowing that Ye Ranran now lives in the Jun’s mansion, brings her back home.
"Which room are you staying in?" Jun Mochan stands at the staircase.
"Second floor, the northernmost room."
Jun Mochan carries Ye Ranran upstairs, enters the room, and gently lays her on the bed.
He took her back to the room as soon as they returned. They haven’t seen each other for so long. It feels like a reunion is more delightful than a newlywed couple, right?
Thinking of this, Ye Ranran closes her eyes.
Seeing her eyelashes trembling, looking utterly ready for him to take, Jun Mochan puts his hands on both sides of her, looking down at her, asking: "What’s on your mind, Ranran?"
Ye Ranran opens her eyes, looking directly into Jun Mochan’s teasing gaze. She’s a bit annoyed, and attempts to push him away: "Nothing. I just want to sleep. Now, go away."
Jun Mochan grabs her hand, forcibly opens her palm: "You haven’t told me yet. How did you get this wound in your palm?"
With one hand propping up his head and the other holding Ye Ranran’s hand, his gaze locks onto Ye Ranran without giving her any chance to escape.
"You can, but you have to bear the consequences once I find out the truth, my lady."
"You’re threatening me again." He just came back, and he’s already threatening her. What happened to the tenderness? The warmth?
Jun Mochan smirks: "Rest assured, I will be sure to pamper my lady later."
Ye Ranran’s pale face turns red: "You’re indecent."
"Haven’t you seen me being indecent before?"
"My lady, you haven’t answered me yet. I want to know." Jun Mochan’s tone carries a hint of danger.
Ye Ranran, unwillingly, tells him what happened.
"That’s it. But then I asked One to beat him up. His facial wounds haven’t healed yet. Did you see that?" Seeing his face tense, Ye Ranran tries to lighten the mood.
Jun Mochan sighs, and his expression relaxes a bit. He releases Ye Ranran’s hand, pokes her face: "You’re so thin. What have you been doing to take care of yourself these days while I was gone?"
Previously, in the dim light and clothed, Jun Mochan couldn’t see clearly. Now under the lights, he realizes with a shock Ye Ranran’s face doesn’t even have a bit of flesh.
Her complexion is not exactly pale, but it’s not much better.
"I was a bit busy before, so I lost weight." Ye Ranran doesn’t want to admit that it was because she missed him.
"I’m going to get you some food. I’ll have someone come help you clean up. Just stay put." Jun Mochan stands up straight.
Ye Ranran grabs his hand, holding it tightly as if afraid he will disappear the next second.
"I’ll just be downstairs, not going anywhere. You go change your clothes, then come down for dinner."
Ye Ranran looks a bit displeased: "Are you disgusted with me?"
"It seems that my lady wants me to help her bathe." Jun Mochan sighs and carries Ye Ranran to the bathroom.
